Darby you don't get it. He thinks whites have life handed to them on a silver platter, when really its no different if not harder for us.

When a white goes into a store to apply or a job and the store owner is white or black he can get turned down no problem, but if a black person goes to apply for a job with a white boss and gets turned down the boss is viewed as racist.

Now, Mos, I am pretty sure I do have a better life than you seeing as I have it pretty damn good. But I don't represent all whites, and you don't represent all blacks.

there was an article I read some time ago about how in Chicago among blacks and whites of THE SAME INCOME LEVEL

the rate of whites getting approved for loans was considerably higher than blacks

and even though I am not white, I don't see how you can be discriminated against in the workplace, if I am wrong please enlighten me

and when a white employer doesn't employ a black, they aren't viewed as racist IF they have legitimate reasoning

now when a white person of the same background gets employed over a black, THEN it may be considered racist

and since you guys seems to think that I haven't experienced any racial discrimination, let me relay a short story to you:

me and a couple of my associates (all black and dressed decently) decided to go to the department store, Macys in NYC to do some clothes shopping

as we entered the building we were approached by Macys security personnel telling us that we could not shop there without a parent, due to our age (16-17 at the time)

as he was explaining this to us, a bunch of teenage whites around our age (difference of age wasn't even noticeable) proceeded to enter the store without being stopped

long story short, there was a middle aged black man that was viewing this injustice and he told the security guard that we were with him and we were THEN allowed to shop

now if that isn't racial discrimination, I don't know what is

Hey it's MosDef, my favorite person.

Statistically speaking, the white is going to do a better job than the black more often than not. But yea, if they have the same resume same IQ and are essentially the exact same the white will always have the advantage. The black man may very well be a completly level headed, well spoken, nice guy, but blacks as a race have been given a bad reputation. And rightly so, just look at poverty rates, average intelligence levels, crime rates, etc.

Same thing applies. You and your friends most likely had no intention to shoplify, but blacks statistically commit more crimes. I'm not neccesarily justifying the stores actions, but I can see where they are coming from.

Story time for me: I use what you just said in your story to my advantage. I go out to a store on the black side of town. I know from a guy who works there that they average 15-20 thefts a day. Of these he says nearly all the thiefs are blacks, as it is a prodominatly black area. I go into the store and take whatever I want (RAM cards) without any survalence as survalence has other people to worry about.
