Surely you care about someone? Maybe you need time off. :) Go on a vacation.

When people tell me that suicide is ''cowardly'' and or ''selfish'', I simply don't care. If I was going to kill myself, I'd do it for me. I owe fucking nothing to anybody.

I'd honestly have to feel you on this one.

It's our life, we can do as we please. If taking your own life is selfish and cowardly, then the fuck are we suppose to think then? That we're cowards because we think of doing so?

Suicide eh?

Dude, you only have like 80 years here, why end it early... And you'll never get a second chance. Think about it, are things REALLY that bad for you? Maybe you should just get off the computer for good...everybody who spends too much time on the internets gets depressed.

To put my problem into context, reading this thread and the problems of others brings the word ''frivolous'' to mind. It's certainly self-centered to believe my problem supercedes that of others in terms of importance, but I'm just going to be honest in this post, and, to me, it does. My problem isn't really something specific. I'm 16, uninspired, unhappy and it seems as though misery is eating away at me, though I have no idea how to protect myself from it or seek happiness. People ask me what I need. I don't know what I need. I act differently in person and online. Realistically, I think I'm probably my true self more online, but I find it impossible to unify my two personalities into one. I haven't come across anyone in person that I want to make friends with, and though I have friends currently, apparently they're getting ''fed up'' with ''my attitude''. Incidentally, they don't really make an effort to help me, so I am equivocal of whether they truly are friends. My (school) work is generally fine, but as time passes, I am growing increasingly apathetic towards not least work, but life in general. I also feel like I have this overwhelming talent and artistic ability that no one else can see. I don't understand it myself, but I can feel its existence. On a final and slightly more morbid note, though it sounds clichéd and ''emo'' (neither of which I aspire to be), following Shawn's death, it occurred to me that suicide is simple and potentially painless. A painless end to a consistently painful predicament of life seems both an artistic and practical way to avoid continued misery, but I couldn't do it presently. I could only do it if something unsurmountably pushed me over ''the border''. I know I wouldn't think twice if I was ''frenzied'', and each day I feel that I am becoming closer to a frenzied state.
I have felt myself drifting towards a similar situation in the last 2 years as I spend more and more time on the computer. Specifically during the Summer, suicide was definitely something that I thought about, although I would never go through with it.
My issue with suicide is that you are leaving everything behind, and gaining nothing. The day after you commit suicide, you could have met the most incredible person of your life.
I would recommend trying out a variety of new hobbies. For me, snowboarding and trampoline are what I find really fun and relaxing.
I am considering asking to be banned from Sythe so that I don't absorb myself with it so much.
Please, Finn, I know you don't owe us anything, but if you committed suicide I know it would disturb most of the people on here, and it's just not worth giving up so much of your life that you could be enjoying when you could easily get help.

I find myself in a similar predicament. I am also uninspired, unhappy, and miserable. I am losing friends to my "attitude" and just generally losing interest in everything. I believe we are both just going through rough patches in our lives. I would hope you would not consider suicide as a way out of this bad patch in your life, as from what i have read of your posts and such, you are a very smart person, and your mind would be a terrible mind to waste. What I'm trying to say is that i know how you feel, and believe that you'll get through your rough patch, as i will also.

Please, don't commit suicide. That is a fucking stupid thing to do. I know it's not good to speak bad about the dead, but Shawn was stupid, doing what he did. Suicide is a cowards way out. Are you a coward? :)

If he's dead, why would he have to worry about being cowardly? or selfish? He'd be dead, so no worries at all.

Finn, it seems your not alone. I feel the same way at time. With the exclusion of losing friends. I don't know why, but I try hard to actually make people like me. Have nothing for them to not like about.

There's not much I can think of for you to do other than to find new/more people to hang out with.

This kid is getting on my nerve.

Hockey player, so typical. Hockey players are almost always total tools. I had a similar situation at my school, I belittled them publicly by making their insults seem insignificant, and eventually they just gave up and never came near me again. Last conversation we had:

Guy: "Hey faggot, nice shorts."
Me: "Yeah, they're pretty gay, huh? Bargain-bin stuff."
Guy: "Yeah... Uh..."
<Leaves>

Once you show them that their insults have you impact, they have no interest in making giving you shit anymore.
By the way, the kids at my school thought these exchanges were funny, and I actually gained social standing from them.
