[APPROVED] Websites to avoid list

Yes, new websites pop up every week. Having a website does not make you trusted.

 

I mean it couldn't hurt, I'd hope it helped someone. Personally I've never checked our black-lists before so idk that anyone else does or has been protected by them. But if they are and we can find someone to maintain the lists then great.

I am always sketched of websites and hosting a list like this at Sythe may also introduce some new users to our forum who google gold websites.

 

Support, I’d rather see Sythe’s homepage redesigned & have this + all the other “watch out” categories in a major pop out so people are warned/well aware of where not to go.

 

support as most evaders who join the market right away also make a website because some believe that having a website makes a user credible, which couldn't be further from the truth.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this, to be fair with my history of abusing anything with a pulse that's scum cant be any harm.

This would be dope the original thread starter can keep it updated from what everyone post. Id suggest though that the website posted be vetted before being thrown on the list.

 

Support for anything that involves making the new people aware of people to stay away from to avoid getting scammed. Good suggestion @Andy.

 

In addition to this, a list of well known Discord servers involved with scamming should be added.

There are a number of these who come across as legitimate servers but are only set out to scam. A few RSPS servers and Inferno cape servers come to mind.

 

Support, easy and quick(ish) to implement, and I don’t see a downside. As long as the websites have valid scam reports against them/proof they are scammers.

In your implementation, avoid providing them with SEO backlinks. That's probably how they get most of their traffic, not from Sythe.

Though obviously, there are some issues with that list and examples brought up. I'm not sure if Acckings can actually be classified as a 'scam', months ago it just copied the exact same TOS/policies as Accountswarehouse has, essentially freeing them of liability because they were previously misleading. It's hypocritical to allow one business and not the other to be honest. These businesses actually both generate huge money due to their business model and TOS, Accountswarehouse is really not that different at all.

PlayerAuctions is completely legit? BigBoiBets also seem legit to me, to be honest. RuneChat is pretty much an obvious scam with many reports on them, doesn't seem like BigBoiBets is getting reported.

 

Just because it seems legit to you doesn't mean it is, their whole businesses rely on shady activities and taking advantage of clueless people and anyone with any market experience will tell u the same. (and there are plenty reports on all of them)

 

What these businesses do is essentially flip accounts.

I'm not that familiar with Acckings. But it does seem they've ended their mislesding claims and made (plagiarized) a clear TOS and policies, especially with stuff like insurance promising more and covering nothing extra due to TOS loopholes.

Their business may be predatory. But all I'm saying is, is it not hypocritical to allow one and not the other? Accountwarehouse is the same thing and operates on Sythe too.

In all honesty? I think both these businesses need to protect customers better. If there's a dispute within 6 months and you supposedely collect their ID and use verified banks/PayPals, they should at least try to dispute it and offer a 90% money refund (cover labour costs of the site as they put in work at that point), not store credit.

Though obviously no one can file a report if it's covered by their TOS, probably why Accountwarehouse has flown under the radar. Having seen how incompetent they are with quotes when I sold an account I'm pretty sure they're just as incompetent and predatory. They offered a Zulrah main $10, high stats main type. Resubmitted a week later added 20m gold, still $10. Realised these businesses are insane flippers and just sold on PA easily.
