Zimmerman Not Guilty

Personally, I'm disappointed and shocked at the outcome... I feel like the prosecution did a really shitty job because they failed to prove the events leading up to the fight that night.

Other thoughts on the verdict?

I usually do not wish death upon anyone but this is just over the line, this makes me upset.

 

neighborhood watch coordinators shouldn't be allowed guns to begin with. He was walking around with a deadly weapon while he was on "duty" therefore he brought it with intent to use it and used it he did. He should have received a life sentence with no chances of parole for 25 years.

Call it a hunch, he won't live to see the day he'll win any law suit. He'll soon realize what an actual street gang member will do. I personally think he'll be shot by the end of the year. I'm white but I still think the verdict was a mistake but that may be because I'm a Canadian where if you shot someone regardless of the reason unless it was like a hunting accident you're getting convicted. Even hunting accidents result in charges like negligence resulting in death.

 

The prosecution did a horrible job, they were nowhere near beyond reasonable doubt, this was the expected outcome in my eyes.

I don't live in the U.S but i've been watching this case online for a while now. I would really like to see what type of shit Fox news will say about this.

Zimmerman should have put locked up for a very long time. He killed a innocent kid but the jury was what 6 white people? .... IT all came down to race at the end wether you want to face it or not. If it was a white boy that had been shot there it would be a total different income.

Zimmerman knows he killed a innocent boy for no reason and hes going to live with that for the rest of his life.

I'm going to get hated on so much for saying this, but I kind of agree with the verdict. I personally think this whole case was blown way out of proportion. Everyone has to bring race into this. Yes, I agree that prejudice may have been involved when zimmerman decided to shoot him, but if you actually listened to the whole thing they proved trayvon was on top of zimmerman when he was shot. People in chicago get shot everyday, and it's mostly blacks shooting blacks. If there was a white man who shot a black man it will make national headlines, but a black who shoots a black, might get lucky to make the morning news. I know a lot of you will disagree, but that's just my opinion.

 

I'm not particularly happy about the verdict either, however there simply wasn't enough evidence and cold hard facts to prove without a reasonable doubt that he was guilty. The United States legal system does not dictate whether someone is guilty or not through emotion like so many seem to think. "dat der honky shot dat poor innocent black boy cuz he just out to get us blacks!1!!" isn't going to cut it in a court of law. The supposed riots going on right now are an absolute embarrassment to the country.

And we already know how rest went down that night. That's more than enough evidence for me, as it proves malicious intent.

Zimmerman then gets acquitted today after killing an unarmed teenager, regardless of his race. Can you tell me where is the justice in that, because clearly I'm not seeing it.

 

Listen, I could sit here and debate your points all night and your mind won't change because like I said earlier, you're letting your emotions get in the way of fully understanding what happened in the trial. Justice was served as an innocent man (remember: innocent until proven guilty) was unable to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and therefor not wrongfully sentenced under the United States legal system. It may not be the justice you or most people seemed to be looking for, but it's justice. Accept it and move on with your life.

 

My emotions? Sorry I hate to break it to you, but the points I made earlier were facts. Also, the jury did not find Zimmerman innocent. They just could not prove it was beyond a reasonable doubt, and as a result they had no choice but to say "not guilty". Being innocent and being found non guilty are two completely different things and "Justice" is subjective.

Lastly, going from your point, apparently the justice system believes no one is responsible for situations they create through the decisions they make. If Zimmerman had listened to the dispatcher, the conflict that followed would have never happened. But he chose to NOT listen to dispatcher, and that decision of his led to the confrontation, thus he is responsible for Martin's death. Since the justice system says he is not responsible for creating that situation, I guess that means we are all free to create any situation we want, even if the situation we create results in one or more innocents getting killed?

Also, I think it is ridiculous how anyone is making this about race... a hispanic guy shoots a black guy, this happens on a daily basis, it's just for the media hype and it makes me sick.
