Christmas Day:Do you feel guilty?

LOL I lost that feeling at 13.
I don't have my presents wrapped maybe only from my grandmother.
And most my presents I get in advance. Either way I care only for my family, not that I'm selfish but there is tooooooooooooo many less fortunate people for me to handle.

Once you get to my age of 16, Christmas just isn't the same anymore. Most of the excitement is gone.

 

Not sure why other's are saying they don't feel guilty, even alittle bit. When sometimes, other people for christmas, is givin food so they can live for a few more days. Put youself in their place. Maybe you will then.

 

I don't think you've made much of a point: Why should I feel guilty because I don't care about people who will likely never impact my life?

 

I don't know about you, but I usually feel pretty damn happy on Christmas morning.

 

If you've spent more on the gifts for others then they spent on you, would you feel guilty?

 

Sometimes I feel a lot of the gift giving that goes on in my family is a waste of money, and feel guilty for that if it was given to me, but I don't feel guilty if it's something I want.

I'm only going to get things I need for Christmas. Hopefully I'll get some good cloths, or something like that. I really don't have any desire to use things strictly for entertainment I don't care about video games and what not anymore.

 

I actually really do know what you mean and feel the same way if not more. It can be embaressing to me somtimes to have a nice amount of presents. In general I just like having the average amount or maybe even a little less. It's just the way I am.

 

the whole point is that your parents buy the gifts for you, so when you have kids, you buy it for them, then the rule goes down the family line, to show that you love them.

i dont really see why I would think of it that way. Its possible but if I really had a problem with it then I would just tell my parents to give the money used beforehand to something more notable. Guilt is avoidable.

 

i dont get presents under the tree like im 12 anymore lol , i just buy w/e and give to family . im 17 btw lol

 

What I meant when I said the under the tree stuff was kind of an exaggeration, I'm sure it doesn't happen to the majority of you.

well i know but still. Don't you think that people over there don't do the same with their neighbors? it happens everywhere. They might feel guilty because their parents went over their rice budget to get them something.

Nah, because i get clothes, and money to spend on my own every year since i was like 13-14.
