PLUG closes up .23 (8.71%) to 2.87. This is just above the 2.85 support I saw early morning. A total of 9M shares were traded of PLUG today which is an insane amount for the market cap and an avg volume over 3 months at 3M per day. I am pretty certain the dip towards close is just day traders taking their profits pre-report and amateur buyers get scared when big capital sellers adjust the price for maximum profits. As a trader you have to expect these things to happen and buy in when you know it's best. The same thing happened Monday in the final trading hour and this is what I saw pre-market today after buying more into my position end of the day yesterday.

I predict a bigger green than 0.01 pre-market tomorrow. Look for resistance at 2.98-3.03 and support at 2.93-2.96 where the resistance was today. These will show overall good market performance to me and provide a good guide for a buying price (at the support). I believe tomorrow the stock may peak after it pushes past 3.00 and could see some strong sells, but many of the shorts covered today, so there's a lot of people holding right now. Also, this is all pre-earnings and I'm already 25%+ in most of my positions.

GEVO looks very cheap in my opinion, and they hold a separate market share and deal with chemicals as well.

BLDP already released earnings, and should follow PLUG as they are a supplier (and has traded in-line with PLUG for years), but their growth isn't as expansive and PLUG has way higher revenues. Hence why the trailing gains yesterday and today are much lower %'s. I do believe the stock is properly priced for its overall performance, but they are still growing, and at a decent rate.

FCEL picked up some gains today as the fuel cell sector goes green for second day this week, but I do not like their fundamentals or growth and think it's overpriced.

FSYS pushed a little red today, I think this is justified and more red may be to come after their earnings, I do not like their business model and they seem to be struggling in some areas. I think they blow their report.

HYGS pushed green for a nice gain. This doesn't surprise me. They do not directly compete with the other companies but are going to post solid growth.

QTWW traded a little red as investors are either short-term taking profits or shorting as the market plummeted the stock over the year. They show decent growth but are still very young and not developed fully. I'd jump on if I had more capital, but it'd be risky and long-term for a big return.

EDIT: IT IS UP 0.02 NOW FROM 0.01

I had a family friend who introduced me to fuel cell growth. He works in private industry but basically told me that fuel cells are getting hot and lots of growth. This was end of 2014 so I started researching the sector and got to know it well and how it traded. In depth research helps with what individual companies compete and which support each other. The sector trades relatively in-line since some are in early stages but PLUG seemed to be the one that stood out and are going to have extremely rapid growth and profitability. They had lots of growth and were only really cheap because of a high market cap. I've been bullish on them for a while, way earlier in this thread I mentioned PLUG and recapped the profit I made from trading them before. I recommended after the market solidified after the crash when it was extremely undervalued late Sept and early Oct.

As for other stocks. I usually just use fundamentals and chart analysis. If I can't explain a movement within a week, I don't really want to own the stock.

As for other fuel-cell stocks. I like HYGS and QTWW's prices, but I wouldn't put money in them right now. FCEL has a nice revenue but not much growth and FSYS is promising and discounted, but they seem risky because of how they make revenue. I'd stay away from the fuel-cell sector until PLUG reports and dust settles because PLUG, BLDP, and HYGS are promising long-term regardless. FCEL is inflated (imo), and QTWW is in early stages.

If you think PLUG is too hot now.I really recommend GEVO. It does not trade with fuel cells and usually falls under biofuels/chemicals. They are going to report solid growth.

Home Depot uses PLUG power and IM WAITING FOR NIKE-PLUG DEAL PRESS RELEASE SOON. HD will report good earnings and I hope you hold your positions. I still recommend BBBY because it's going to be ON SALE tomorrow morning

LASTLY... IF I HAD MONEY I'D INVEST IN DR PEPPER SNAPPLE (DPS). They have low operating costs, maintain growth and are profitable, plus a dividend. ITS SUPER CHEAP RIGHT NOW AND IS A SUPER AMAZING BUY

EDIT: LOL I SAID I LIKED GEVO IN MY LAST REPLY BEFORE THIS WAS POSTED ONLINE. STILL A STRONG BUY FROM ME!!!

PLUG trading up pre-market, like I predicted. Today I really need to watch every movement incase I need to jump out and reap the profits, but I am really hoping a Nike Press release comessssssssss

I might sell half my positions and keep the others for after earnings report.

    I'll keep you guys updated.

EDIT: The high so far was 3.03, right where I said the most resistance would be two posts ago. Not surprised to see all the selling afterwards. Not going to sell as there still seems to be the very same support in the 2.80s we saw early day yesterday. A stock won't rise forever without News or Numbers, so I'm fine holding.

NOW THAT I'VE DECIDED TO HOLD... WE WAIT!!!!!!

    ALSO:

    GEVO WITH THE RALLLLLYYYYYYYYY

    ALSO:

AA in the past week has made Papa Anet390 some nice returns for early November. Have yourself a party during 2016 Alcoa! He thinks aluminum prices adjust more and is holding with a long-term price target of ~$11.

Posted on 10/27, Dad purchased on 10/27 @ approx. +/- 8.75/share on his positions. Currently trading high 9.40s

PLUG closed +0.05. Shorts were obviously made yesterday and bears kept trying to push it but that 2.85 resistance held ALL day and eventually all the short covers came in and the bears closed out. Tomorrow will be an VERY interesting day. I see lots of buying power, but it might be an attractive shorting day, especially if the market is down.

I SEE GEVO IS TRADING UP 4% after-market.

This is most likely due to these two (now three) articles being posted after close. I have no clue if it'll stick, we will find out tomorrow when we see their earnings report.

    EDIT: 3rd article posted

    http://www.themarketsdaily.com/stock-ratings/news-sentiment-update-on-gevo-inc-nasdaqgevo-5/79321/

DPS and BBBY is going to soar in the next week or two, guaranteed. They are too cheap for investors not to grab imo

BLDP went green today most likely following suit with PLUG and others in the sector that also went green like FSYS and FCEL (which I think could see some selling tomorrow since people already have seen their earnings). QTWW got sold pretty heavily and if it stays were it is now, I'm a buyer once I sell some PLUG positions AND if it maybe goes a bit lower pre-2016.

ALSO: COSI looks SUPER cheap to me and management is changing internal structure to try and bring better results.

@superfluous - grats on those FB positions

Still bullish on PLUG. Good resistance and ER. Still waiting on Nike Press release and others as well.

    BBBY broke out!!

    DPS still looks CHEAP imo

COSI IS CHEAP AND SO BULLISH

Other fuel cells traded down. They should trade a bit down in the coming weeks since we know a few of their earnings already. Still support PLUG obv.

GEVO disappointed in revenue but had impressive EPS. They are a niche for now but not for long IMO. I like them in the future.

Those are all the stocks I'm watching closely atm.

Theres others like AZN, EMC, GE and KMI I'm more long term watching.

down 14.5% @ anet, but earnings don't really seem that bad. if you're really confident in it, this might be a good time to stock up (hehe, puns). i did something similar with expedia two years ago (... and sorely regret selling out last winter)

I currently have a handful of PLUG positions still in the profit right now and am actually (barely) green overall for my PLUG positions. Bought in mid low 30s early day today after selling an under 2.00 position to fund a buy that I have already made a few cents per share on at close.

While I did lose huge potential profits, I actually think the report was pretty good. Margins still seem to hurt them, but this is changing a lot as they develop their own stacks and begin to sign new deals. (IKEA press release soon!!!!) (Still waiting on Nike). Marsh also stated in the conference call they are doing more walmart centers in TX and soon FL as well is more EU deals (IKEA and a deal with Air Liquide in FR). I'm 100% in it for the long run and really think it's a perfect buy right now. Plug actually predicted the increase in Admin costs and it makes sense because they are really trying to push their revenue high as they can incase 2016 solar tax credit doesn't get renewed.

INCASE you don't know. ITC is a 30% tax reduction on solar investments (renewable). PLUG takes advantage of this and I believe they are trying to avoid the business model of forcing margins at potential loss of leverage in their supply chain, and instead are trying to force revenues up as quickly as possibly while they have it 30% tax-free.

Investors in the near-term most definitely hate the idea of paying money (losses) to generate revenue [which is why the loss in stock price today], but it's the best way for PLUG to push a large market share before other companies and themselves possibly lose an important tax reduction.

This quarter PLUG surpassed their largest direct competitor FCEL in total revenue for Q3. With PLUGs rapid growth and beats on revenue and FCEL's constant
misses on revenue guidance tells an interesting story about who has the best future ahead.

The most important thing for PLUG is to make sure that once their margins increase to good profitability, they continue to push revenues without losing money.

I COMPLETELY disagree with the market today. A loss of $11M by a company with ~$150M in backlogs and rev of ~100M in year does not warrant a 14% loss in stock value. Especially with more unsigned deals being announced during the conference call.

Marsh, PLUG CEO, was in Washington DC with politicians and Air Liquide (who on their website states they have "strategic partnerships with PLUG"), discussing the future of hydrogen power. He is now in Europe visiting Air Liquide, new costumer sites, and probably signing IKEA. Air Liquide also just recently had a few big hydrogen innovations. Don't forget about 5 other new customers besides IKEA and increased GenDrive service revenue and margins.

Also, Obama declining the Canadian pipeline is a nice push for energy alternatives like PLUG.

LOTS TO LOOK FORWARD TOO. Still a BUY from me.

Still like DPS, BBBY, GE, EMC and KMI long-term.

Short term/Small Cap I like NXTD and COSI.

Bought more into PLUG at 1.925

Still have 260 shares in the profit. Have a little over 4k shares 2.30-2.40, which is completely fine with me.

DPS having a nice day, here comes the UPWARD trend. Undervalued.

    BBBY still undervalued to me.

Lmao. I'm sharing my investments not bragging. The purchases where done through my dad using my money as I am only 15, made a killing with Tesla and Solar City though. I'm sure I could get my dad to access the account and show proof but cba rn, you can check the prices of Tesla and Solar City the past couple years though:). Btw I don't see anyone else posting any proof.

I've posted proof of my previous gains and (currently) losses.

PLUG traded a bit up today after this Press Release: http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/globenewswire/10156241.htm

Sold my high-1.60s PLUG positions @ 1.87 (0.01 off daily high) today to lock in some profit and liquidate for some other investments. Most of my shares are still in 2.40ish.

I picked up some shares of NXTD since they didn't even report earnings today and their shares dipped before close. I like their products and they just started retailing and got a deal for the holidays (Q4).

I am considering a low priced call on USO. I may actually write a call option for Dec at a considerable price and pocket the premium because oil will bounce a tiny bit but will stay stable through the year IMO.

PS: If BBBY gets near or below 50, I'm possibly increasing my portfolio. DPS is too expensive per share for me but I still really like it. If airliners trade down significantly at all because of the market, I'll get in one or two.

PSS: My dad still thinks AA under 8.00 is a steal before the upcoming year.

    (from last post on Friday)

Sold 3/4 of my NXTD positions I bought on Friday and took my +15% TWO MINUTES before close today AND got out on the high at .66 [Thank you stock alerts <3]. Holding the other 1/4 with a 0.90 price target. Considering reinvesting if theres a really big unjustified pullback tomorrow.

PLUG had a solid day today as lots of fuel cell news got released and investors continue to evaluate the 3M deal announced on Friday. Hydrogenics (HYGS) who I discussed before got a deal with China to begin working on hydrogen fuel cells in transportation. New statistics were released regarding how rapidly fuel cells are growing and how North America is soon to pass Asia as the #1 user of these fuel cells (good4PLUG). I also read an interesting article regarding Wal-Mart and the promises made by their CEO (at the time) in 2005 regarding WMT's goal of becoming 100% clean energy. (Walmart is PLUG's largest costumer at the moment.) [Let me know if you'd like to read any of these articles and I'll link you. The WMT is very interesting to anyone.]

Holding onto a few shares of EMC in at 25.03.

KMI shares rallied after insider buying of 100,000 shares by Richard Kinder was released, including another 10,000 shares by their VP as well. I'm long KMI, and have a few shares in at a few pennies over $27 from late October. (This investment is tied to oil which is why it's down obviously, but I prefer it because they still have a lot of protection from volatility of the price because they charge by volume for pipelines and oil production is increasing. The issue is that the oil companies are getting hit hard and reducing R&D which is why KMI's EPS was hurt, but its free cash flow INCREASED, which is why the dividend increased. I'm currently just holding because a $2 yearly div per share is not bad and KMI has lots of future projects)

It's nice to see GEVO bounce a bit and I think it is a really good long-term investment with huge upside potential, but currently hold no shares.

I plan on writing a call option on USO tomorrow or some time this week depending on a few factors.

PS: Still REALLY like DPS (anywhere under $89) and BBBY (anywhere under $55) as mid to long term investments.

PSS: WELP, AA didn't stick around 8.00 for long after a 7.99 open, closing at 8.28. Was under 8.00 on Nov12 & Nov13, where my dad bought in. I need to ask him about his price targets and if he's gonna take new positions.

...why? what do you see in it? i've always put it in the basket of things i will never buy because i just don't see the value there. i know this isn't a super technically robust analysis, but i just don't think the company is worth whatever it's trading for
