Your investments

These are my investments so far and I don't plan on changing them. Most of them are longer term but they are set up to maintain wealth and to make sure that I make money in any situation.

Longterm: 1) Buying physical silver and gold. Hold and don't sell. 2) Stocks in junior gold and silver mining companies as well as uranium mining companies.

Bitcoin and alternative coin currencies.

Results, I am up 20% this year on physical gold. I am up on the gold stocks but the percentage I am unsure of. The mining stocks are longterm invesments.

Bitcoin, I have doubled my money since last year and on the other coin currencies I make a minimum of 15% before I trade.

 

and what happens when the price of gold goes down? that's an extremely risky allocation dude

 

The physical price of gold is determined by traded paper.

30% allocated to physicals
30% to shares
30% held in national currency
10% in digital currencies

 

that doesn't answer my question or explain why betting on one thing and one thing only is a safe bet

no, that's stupid investment practice which will ruin you in the long run. there are calculated risks and there are reasonable risks; this is the former

S&P + 2.5% YTD
worst year ever relative to market but okay result overall

going forwards:
will likely invest about $20k more than last year. potentially moving into some energy/finance buys that i've become less hesitant on recently. happy to listen to thoughts

 

Current holdings are a few grand in SPXL (3x leveraged SP500 ETF) and roughly a grand in VOO (SP500 ETF). Not bad gains with the both of them this side of the election.

 

I assume you're a long-term trader? You should consider adding AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) to your portfolio. Long-term or swing trader, AMD is great if you do your due diligence (which I know you do).

Any free guide/tips available for just getting started ? I get the feeling if i google Stocks i'm going to be pounded by google adverts for companies that will probably charge an arm and a leg just for setting up? Or have i got this all wrong Lol. Thanks in advance.

To be honest, no one is going to just give you recommendations for your portfolio. They might give advice or some resources to check out, but to just tell you what you should get into won't happen here unless you're buddy buddy with them.

I say this because what if your positions all go to shit? How will you know when to sell, keep, etc? If you don't know that info, then you will be in for a world of hurt if you get down because you will have relied on the advice of a random person on starting your portfolio. I'm a novice as well, so bare with me here.

Read some books on investing/trading (plenty out there for all levels of investors), blogs, news reports, Investopedia (website), etc. I really like Anthony Robbins and his ideologies - mostly the retirement stuff he puts out.
