Why do you think people scam?

It's due to a lack of empathy for other people, and greed. Being online you don't see the face of the person you're hurting.

 

Most scams I witness are either 1 of 2 things. Either it's a scumbag who just scams pixels with no remorse and keeps doing it. The second of the two usually is centered around more trusted users. Sometimes I see stakers get cleaned and panic. They scam sometimes and usually with the intentions of going up and giving it back. (Felix, gyazo, Pat, teen/sept). Hell just ask prince, He's been scammed 10k this week. He went first for 7k to a scammer known as Jules. He also got fooled by a friday imposter and lost another 3k. (Fukd) scammed him via discord. Say what you want about Friday, but he has a solid reputation with most stakers.

 

Most people scam because they are young and immature and don't know any better.

 

Fast money and all they have to lose is their rep which they can just start over again.

Mentally unstable, and needs help.. So when he asks from his parents, they refuse.. And he goes to scamming others by doing bad to others and at the same time benefitting himself

 

Greed and I'd like to think that the vast majority of scammers do it impulsively, rather than sit there planning it through but I know that'd be naive.

 

Scammers haven't developped their moral capacities yet, it's that simple. You have to be able to think outside the box and put yourself in the position of a person that has just been scammed. Don't want this to happen? Then don't scam.

 

I think most people that scam have no morals and it's quite disgusting but besides the point for personal gain, nothing good comes of it.

 

No self conscience

 

Money is the motive.

If it's not the reason, then normally it's just to inflict damage.

 

Some people just panic. They lose their banks and need instant relief. It's always been the opposite for me. I've been cleaned numerous times hosting/gambling. I always found the rebuild/grind the most rewarding. I relished in my ability to rebuild the right way. Rising from the ashe's a mother fucking gp god!

 

I reckon some impostors try to do it for a living now.

People so excited by the prospect of selling their account or gp for real money they don't take precautions

 

Because it's honestly pretty easy to do if you're a creative. And, somehow they feel like stealing something online is not as bad as stealing in the real world.

People scam because it's a no brainer if you're morally challenged. Why pay for something if you can get it for free? some peoples mind sets i suppose.

 

its in their nature to steal specially on the internet while no one knows who you really are behind a computer like a keyboard warrior.

 

We live in a world that revolves around money.

 

Today my sister was selling something on a well-known Dutch marketplace. The buyer wanted to pay and quickly put some bills on the table. Luckily my sister works at a construction market and she had one of those bill scanners at home. Once scanned it appeared all the bills were fake. The buyer then went playing the victim saying like "Oh they must've given me the wrong bills at the bank. I'll go there to see what's up" and of course the buyer never returned. Not just on Sythe, but overall on the whole earth there are a whole lot of scumbags.
