If you have scammed and you think scamming earns you nice $$, then get a life.
It's just a ****ing shitty thing that I hate the most.

BTW I'm not asking what a scammer gets by scamming, I'm telling and they are my opinions.

So when runescape ends you will have something of significant value? No you will have nothing. After completing college/uni you will have a degree which is of value. Stop arguing that point, you cannot win it.

The book is your real life property that YOU OWN. Runescape accounts and any items on them belong to JAGEX at all times. How can a scammer steal something that isn't yours?

 

Then why do people say, "He scammed my account"? It's because even though we agreed to JaGex's little ToS, nobody really considers it to be their property, as we spend both our time and money on it. We maintain ownership of it, and when someone steals it, they are still stealing my property, regardless of what JaGex's ToS says.

Scamming is just pathetic. We should'nt let them go away with it. May it be for 2$ or for 2000$, when somebody scam you he spit in your face and then laugh at you. The internet is not anonymous, there is alway a way to track down people and make them pay.

Scammers have always been around, and they will be, everyone's looking to make a quick buck but all you can do is stay true to your word so the real buyers/sellers have hope.

 

I agree with the statement that the scammers have always been around but I still think that there has been more and more every year.

If you cound Phishing and Keylogging/ratting as scamming as well, I see kids as young as 11 and 12 doing it. It's really sad to be perfectly honest because they grow up thinking that's a good thing to do. I've even been around some of these comunities and some of these people think that scamming / phishing / keylogging is legal. If you got the word out there about the consequences, I'm sure way less people would do it.

 

A lot of the time scammers don't actually scam for the 'benefits' in which they could scam (for example, money). They often have issues which they can't address thus meaning they have to take it out some way or another. Instead of completing a fair trade, they'll scam to make themselves feel proud of themselves, it helps them come to terms with the fact that they're a heartless person with little to no empathy. Nothing gets my blood boiling more than a scammer, although by scamming they are in fact basically walking down a busy street with a sign above their head saying, "Look at me, I'm incapable of controlling and understanding what I'm feeling, so I must take it out on little, defenceless babies". That would be, in my opinion, a perfect metaphor with the babies being the victims of the scam.

I've literally been over this thrice and you still keep saying everyone in the entire world values a degree more than games.

You realise in the vast majority of countries the government actually owns your land, yes? Is it then okay to steal someone's house because you aren't technically thieving from them directly?
You're ripping off someone's time, effort and in some cases money that they've put into the game.

People who scam via the internet, especially on Sythe.org, get money, at the risk of nothing. I see where you're coming from, but the fact is you are way over generalizing things. And your generalizations are quite far off to begin with.

Just because someone scams online doesn't make them a bad person, or a soon to be vigilante when they get older. People scam online because it's impossible to get caught (caught in the sense of getting punished), and also to make easy money. Some might even do it just for the rush of getting away.

It's like people who shoplift small items from stores very frequently. It's not because they need them, or because they need the money. They do it for a high, scamming is honestly like a drug to some.

 

I got scammed on rsbot for 71m rsgp. The guy at least wasn't a dick and didn't go straight offline, and I talked to him, and he explained what he does, why he does it, etc. He told me he buys forum accounts cheap gets vip then scams, and resells on a legit rsbot account, he claims to made 2-3 thousand already, and he is going on a vacation. At least I give him props for talking to me afterwards.

 

Read my reply in that thread, and maybe you'll have a different tone. Secondly, the internet can be totally anonymous, that's exactly why people use it to scam. If the person isn't listed in the white pages, or has a FaceBook account, then what? Because those are the only two sources anyone has to combat anything, and most of the time they won't work.

 

I very seriously doubt they will have any guilt at all tbh.. I mean they have probably been planning it and if they scam u there gonna be like ehh i scammed sum1 for 10m lets try 100m. and stuff like that theres really no guilt involved...
