What do scammers get from scamming?

Free shit, why else would they scam..?

If you know what you are doing and you are not a dumb ass you will NOT get caught. I can teach any kid with any level of intelligence on how to stay anonymous and how to get the most out of it. It is not hard. Staying anonymous is the easiest part. If you actually think karma strikes back you are wrong. There is ways to rake in 1000$ of dollars a day just by scamming. All profit. No one is going to find you if you know what your doing.

 

Really well, I liked how you explain it, it's something like a thing that cross people's minds.

However, one thing I know, is that I trade here because I wanted to trade for virtual items that I needed and trade away things I no longer need, and usually I can spot a scammer when I see one, just like you said, "Desperation", they act so desperate and want it fast. Just like those "Selling full dragon 3m must accept fast", those types.

From my personal experience, I've been scammed a few times, but not a huge amount, because I'm probably cautious, but like everyone else says, not everyone who was scammed would turn into a scammer, good people with good minds, like me, hehe, won't turn into one, I just like trading and seriously, why scam? It's a crime and there should be cops who specialize at internet crime and bust all the scamming kids.

I remember a guy was captured by the police scamming RS accounts? Reference came from rsgold or some site like that. So good fight scammers.

 

I believe the answer to your question is "free stuff". I think you should also be IP checked for being a vader

Not only that, but I know for a fact that Sythe was never this haven of trustworthy traders that everyone's portraying it to be. It's ALWAYS been crawling with kids trying to scam people, it's just that with free trade there are a lot more than usual.

And well... scammers get money from scamming. I doubt it's about power or revenge, they're just selfish people who are protected by the internet.

Also, this is the exact reason we shouldn't allow luring guides/lure planning on sythe. It attracts the kind of lowly person who's likely to scam other sythe members. How can we complain about getting ripped off through sythe trades when discussion of how to scam people in-game is perfectly within the rules of the site? It's no different from stealing someone's RL money.

 

Why would they scam? Pretty obvious, to earn items/money that does not belong to them.
