You can see this from both sides of the argument. If people have been on sythe for a long time and have put in alot of work and done many deals then i do not mind seeing [TRUSTED] tags on their threads. But when you have new people who have only been here for 2 months posting those tags it does not seem like they have been around long enough to have trusted in their thread titles. But who are we to say who can and who cant have trusted in their titles as everyone has a different view of Trust. I think if they are fairly new with little to no business done on sythe that they shouldn't be allowed to use those tags. Everyone has their own views on the issue and i dont see any really good arguments to make the mods here change it.

I put this in the Sythe MEME thread a while ago and it makes me laugh.

It's been suggested to remove it a fair few times, but you can report the thread if you feel the user isn't trusted and staff with remove it. I think there should be some requirements such as a staff decision allowing people to use it.

If we ban trusted, another word will just pop up anyways and on and on it will go from word to word. Also, its used as advertising and this is a market, so naturally people are going to use it.

I've asked about this in the past, because it creates an illusion that the tag [Trusted] is related to the 'Highly Trusted' rank.

I laugh at those who have it tagged in their titles though.
Laugh all you want, but I'll still use it simply because the majority of people don't and it sets my thread aside from others. Besides, I believe it is justified in my case.

You have all the right to think that, i believe everyone does think that about themselves. People still need to check vouches and they'll have to see for themselves if you're trusted or not.

I understand where both sides are coming from, and ultimately It comes down to the trader to look into vouches and also, if they don't feel the person is trusted enough you can always use a middleman.

Putting [Trusted] is very mis-leading and shouldn't be allowed. Once you reach a certain level, for example 200 vouches, you should receive a mini-rank which then allows you to add the pre-fix [TRUSTED] - anyone who doesn't have the permission to do it and still does it, they should be warned, if it then happens again, they should suffer a punishment.

I still think [TRUSTED] should be banned, and only allowed by those with the Highly Trusted rank, but I will admit until it is I and many others will continue to use it, as every little edge counts.

[Trusted][Highly Reputable]Nigerian Prince Needs Your Help[Legitimate]

Unless you've never been on the internet before or you're a complete moron, you should really be able to figure out for yourself that "[trusted]" in a title means jack shit. Ironically i find the tag helps me weed out scammers because if you see some 10 post newbie with a trusted tag you know they're clearly trying to scam you. So i'd actually prefer if people continue to attempt to outsmart others by claiming legitimacy in the title of their thread, it saves you a load of time.

A lot of self - proclaimed the title trusted lol... It's just ridiculous. I don't think it should be disallowed, but also giving us the right to challenge the users Thread title [Trusted] within the thread, as in ask him personally on what grounds he considers himself trusted when in fact he isn't

If it contradicts your actual reputation such as Moonglare stated then I believe it should be penalized because it can be miss-leading I guess! Technically speaking no-one can be deemed as trust worthy because everyone pretty much is until they decide not to be... the concept seems stupid but it is true! You can have a million vouches but if you MM £1,000,000 then it would be hard not to take it, the book would of course be thrown at you for that amount however I was just using it as an example.

I would frown upon it and believe it should be penalized if it's blatenly a false statement.

The validity of the [Trusted] tag should be put into perspective.

I feel that it is absolutely justified if the seller has numerous vouches for at least the amount that the item he is selling in the thread marked with [Trusted] is worth.

For example; if a Pin/Upgrade seller has 200 vouches from selling pins, then he has the right to mark his pin selling thread with [Trusted], because he is obviously legitimate in that area.

This same seller, however, does not have the right to put up the [Trusted] tag in an account sale thread for $300, presuming he doesn't have a few vouched $300+ sales on top of his Pin vouches.

A major issue is also that, as far as I can tell, a sizable portion of users can't seem to grasp the concept of a vouch. I am really adamant regarding this: a vouch is only valid if the user trusted you with something, giving you the opportunity to scam him.

Here is an example of a misleading "vouch".
Scenario: A Sythe Mod buys a pin from a 2013 member. The 2013 member, who obviously just joined the site, and is very likely a shady user, sells the pin to the mod and receives payment upon the successful activation of the pin by the mod. The mod then proceeds to "vouch" this user, hereby creating false rep.

Summa summarum
What is really needed is a system to weed out the sketchy "vouches" and allow users to use this tag only in the context described above.
