[Trusted] Is this allowed?

I had no idea where I was going to post this, was thinking 'suggestions' then 'feedback' so thought i'd settle with general haha. ^_^

so is posting [Trusted] in your title allowed? and what are your opinions if someone does ? :huh:

in my opinion most of the time i find the title misleading as they usually have low post count or a small donation amount. yeah they may have a fair amount of vouches but does this deem them as trustworthy ? tbh i think only mods or verified users should be allowed, possibly donors of 100$ + but then again it all comes down to what type of trade =| ahha

 

Yeah, there is no rules against it.

 

It's allowed, although some people frown upon it. I think some staff members remove the [trusted] thing if the user who posts it clearly is not very well known or trusted on here. At the end of the day its up to you to decide who to trust on here.

 

Yeah there's no actual rule about it but I am really against people putting it there. Its unprofessional if your clearly not trusted and pathetically annoying.

I have been meaning to suggest that for a while but never really got around to it. I frown on it too. As xDeploy said, it is ridiculous when they are clearly not trusted and can be used to lure those who are unaware into a scam.

 

I agree that its a little ridiculous, but honestly..

Its pretty clear that people can make their thread titles whatever they want. If someone decides to trade with someone just because they have a [trusted] in their thread title then its pretty much inevitable that they are going to get scammed.

I think it would be a waste of time to try and regulate it.

 

If you feel that the poster is far from being trusted, report the thread and the mods will most likely remove the tag.

 

TBT's Post is correct, if you feel that the thread title obviously contradicts OP's actual reputation so to speak, then report it. Usually when we comes across a thread with a tag like that in it we will use our best judgement to see if the thread title is actually worthy of it.

Meh, I reported two threads by the same user with [Trusted] in the title. One of my reports got the tag removed, the other one got me infracted (both were different mods). I don't like the practice, and I'd think there should be some official clarification about it.

 

If there was clarification people would just post "Officially Trusted" in their threads, and you'd get more scammers or people scamming because new users would think they could actually trust somebody because they are "officially trusted" as stated. Just report the posts, it's not that hard, or make a rule against having it in your title even if you're trusted. Instead just put "xxx vouches", I don't know anybody who would trust somebody with more money just because they say they're trusted, so I don't know why this is such a big deal. They can just do it Via Skype or MSN.

 

I guess it's really not up to us to judge people but I don't think it should be allowed.

And to OP, last I heard it is allowed. It is simply up to the person trading with if they deem the person using those tags as trusted.

 

There are also different "definitions" of trust. Some people claim to be "trusted" after selling selling 15 upgrades for 10m each in different transactions. They are clearly not "trusted".

 

The meaning of trust is measured by vouches and the only reason for it to be in the title is to mislead other ill-informed users.

I think it should be used by only a select few who have earned the right to use it.

 

Theres also trust in the gfx section. Just because you draw a picture, how does that make you trustworthy with a party hat? I wouldnt trust moonglare with 50k (No offence)

 

Yes but that's also why they can't gain vouches from it....

 

Trust to me means how much a person has used the market.
Moneywise, vouches ect

 

I've asked about this in the past, because it creates an illusion that the tag [Trusted] is related to the 'Highly Trusted' rank.

I laugh at those who have it tagged in their titles though.
