Thoughts on Prostitution?

I think it should be legal, but it should be done how Sweden is currently doing it. It seems like the safest way for both parties, and it is regulated very well.

 

I believe it should be legal. The only reason why there's pimps and gangs that control this industry is because currently, this practice is illegal.

 

It's legal here in austria, and they also treat it like a business.
Same as in germany.

Ironically, making it illegal for someone to sell their body for money is a violation of their autonomy, similar to how a free person can't sell themselves into slavery.

I don't see a problem. People like to fuck, but not everyone is attractive. I'd say a huge chunk of the population is rather unpleasant on the eyes, but they still want to fuck. So why not let them create the beast with 2-8 backs

 

Im against it because some of the prostitutes are told of retards to do this and they take their money after everyday of prostitute. The rest of people are doing this just for the money ... nothing more to say.

That isn't true. Porn requires a bunch of permits, STD tests and a bunch of different stuff. You can't just decide "hey let's make a porn movie" and pay someone off the street to be in it.

You, along with most other people in the thread, are missing the point of why prostitution is illegal in many places: many prostitutes are prostitutes because they have no other choice (because they've been kidnapped from poorer countries, etc). Making it legal will not stop this -- only heavily regulating it would.

 

The bitches/leeches I was refering to are those who say stuff like this: "I forgot to take the bill, wooooooops" or "I was taking the pill (lies)" and trust me there are a lot of these women around. The fault falls on women more than men in this part. A man can go and fuck different women for 9 months in a row and create X amount of babys. A woman has to understand that she will be the 1 carrying the baby ---> don't agree to unprotected sex. I seriously doubt a guy would say "No, we are not having sex if I have to wear a condom". The condom would be on in 5 sec if the women said "No condom, no sex".

 

I %100 agree with this, it's your body! You should be able to do what you will with it.

 

It's legal here. In my opinion like this the governement has way more control over prostitution to avoid women being forced into it.

 

The only reason why it is illegal is that it conflicts with some moral viewpoints. A group of people gained enough political influence to have the state enforce their morals upon others. It is asinine to think I can have sex with anyone I want as long as they consent, but if money exchanged hands it is "illegal".

 

If this is the case, then the efforts that are being used to stop prostitution should be used to stop kidnapping/enslaving people from poorer countries. Simple case of treating the cause rather than the symptoms.

I recently wrote a piece on a similar topic, one of my conclusions was that states such as Sweden and Iceland strongly indicate that criminalising the purchasing rather than selling of sexual services tends to reduce the prevalence of prostitution, while acting as a deterrent to human trafickers into these countries and rightly decriminalising the prostitutes themselves.

 

Should be illegal in my opinion. Too many diseases etc + I don't like the fact that you're paying someone for them to do it.

 

I believe prostitution should be legalized. People should be able to do what they want with their bodies. If it were legalized, prostitution would be safer for those that engage in it. They can have bodyguards and what not for security. Currently, prostitutes are very vulnerable.

I would never ever personally pay someone for sex. It's not hard to get girls unless you just got unlucky with looks.
