Some people say it's not possible, since humans had a hard time breaking the sound barrier (speed of light thing was bullshit, my apologies :3 teleportation is moving an object without acceleration, so no speed or velocity is involved when teleporting, thanks to Sythe for making me realize this)
Wrong.
Teleportation is the transfer of matter from one point to another without traversing the physical space between them. [from wiki] It does not involve any speed of the matter since we're not traversing the physical space between them.
Is it even possible?
I think so.
After doing a little bit of research I believe humans are able to achieve teleportation in a long-term scale. In 1993 a physicist was said to succeed in teleporting an object, however that object would be destroyed after. He was able to do so using quantum entanglement and "teleported" one of the elementary particles, photon.
Please share your thoughts here and correct my mistakes.
More to be added.
EDIT:
Speed is one thing, but there might be many other ways to travel in space, like curving the space time canvas, which could be theoretically possible according to astrophysicists, and would allow to create "short-cuts" in space... possibilities are probably infinite, but species like us that made their first steps in space about 50 years ago couldn't understand these.
