Since B.C. times, people have wanted to explore, People wanted to discover the earth and they did, people went to the poles, discovered the ocean, because they wanted to know. Then in the 60s, the we went to the moon, at the speed we were then, we could be on mars by 2000. Then, space died... Ever since the 70s, no one seems to care. What happened to wanting to know whats out there? Space is the final frontier, space is right above our heads......
Just think about it, if NASA had continued being supported, think how much farther we would be right now, I mean we wouldn't be out of our solar system, but maybe an outpost on mars? Probably a decent colony on the moon?
It bugs me how people just don't care, it bugs me that I was born in this period of time, because nothing important is going on in the space frontier. I really want to focus part of my life on exploring space, but I don't think thats going to happen at this rate.
NASA at best won't land on the moon again until 2030 in my opinion, I think our only chance is for private corporations.
Do you think the final frontier is being ignored?
