Tofu, you hit the nail on the head here. Wouldn't selling a bump timer bypass feature promote spamming?

For example, I want to bump my thread every ten minutes for an hour so I make ill-formed and irrelevant posts around the site, vote in old polls and bug other users to like my posts in order to "farm" Sythe gold. Once I've "farmed" enough gold I am rewarded by being able to bump my own threads excessively.

Do you plan on implementing any countermeasures for this feature? Or rely solely on the work of the current staff to keep it under control? As Tofu said above, if it's going to directly affect the market and content quality of posts, it's going to need strict and specific moderation and regulation.

I do believe they will have a sort of system to restrict the type of posts Sythe Gold would reward. I.e. useless, small etc posts will not give Sythe Gold. A possible bump button has been mentioned before, so the small irrelevant "bump" posts wont receive anything. Specific sections where likes are wanted; i.e. Donor Lounge or Spam Forum don't give SG rewards for likes or posts? I believe. Of course if there is abuse it can be dealt with, I hope especially if the aims are to maintain a economy out of Sythe Gold.

Didn't read all the comments, but any expected release date for new features to be added as part of the Sythe Gold, such as smaller bump times?

 

I personally hope sythe gold won't be used for faster bumps or something like that because it would make it even harder for new users to do something on this site and helping the rich get richer.

Yes you currently can. This is the only thing we can do with it at the moment.

 

I think the trend that more donated = more bonuses is a fair one. You can obtain a decent amount of sythe gold throught donating gold and you can also obtain it throught other activities which have no cost associated with them. That's what's so good about sythe gold, it's not exclusive to the wealthy but to the community driven the active traders etc. Id understand your point if new comers were forced into paying money to be on the same level as other traders but there not. So please don't use the abosulte disgrace of a statement the rich get richer. There's a reason there at the top now stop moaning and get grinding. S/o @veng @TalonsGP @video @R5V

 

Yeah I agree completely with the donating system in that it helps you look more trustworthy (what I'm about to say depends on the price of the service) but I presume the "extra bumping service" would be pretty grindy to get your hands on with the 1post1SG and 1like1SG thingies and it might create a bunch of spam on the forums because a bunch of people would be spamming threads to get SG so they could bump the threads they actually care about. Now how would the "rich get richer" if it takes you for example 5 days of spamming to get idk 5 extra bumps while someone can just donate and get a hundred of them and keep "extra bumping" his threads constantly giving him an upper hand purely because of his financial status. And please to call the saying "the rich get richer" an apsoulte abundance is I'm sorry but just stupid, it is a fact that the rich in fact tend to get richer(if they handle their money properly ofc) because money generates money, if you have a million it isn't too hard to make 20k$ but if you got 0 you have to work for that 20k a while if you are even gonna make it. And I am in no way one of those grumpy poor people who are jealous on the rich just because they are but that statement is something that every rich person is going to agree on.

 

People spamming would be dealt with like it always has been so that ain't an issue. People who chose to donate to get this feature deserve it. They are giving back to a website that is generating them income. So because people have taken the time to build there business on sythe, we can't reward them because new comers will be affected?

 

And let's be honest, 90%+ newcomers sign up just to buy from a reputable gold seller.

I have no problem having those who donate more receive more benefits.
