Support of NASA

For your information, private industries are always the ones that succeed, not government run ones. And we aren't discussing taxes, we're discussing how much we have to pay for NASA (NASA taxes if you will).

Care to show some evidence to support that assertion?

You could cut a few hundred billion dollars from the bloated US military budget. There are tax dollars being wasted all over the place, when they really should be going on the important things like socially valuable services (i.e. the fire department) and so on.
So I feel that while NASA do consume a lot of tax dollars, there's no sense in singling them out. Besides, a large amount of NASA's budget goes onto researching high technology which is useful in all sorts of different areas.

A broader point I have to make is that the US economy works on the basis of welfare for the rich. Tax dollars go towards subsidizing big business. The people with power pull the strings so that the state supports them. "The government is the shadow cast by big business over society".

 

Errrm, hate to burst your bubble but try all those satillites up in the sky that keep us nice and safe.

Yes, satelites that keep millions safe. They detect any hostile projectiles that are launched, and can warn anybody BEFORE they are hit. This could save thousands if not millions of people.

They also allow better surveillance on the ground. All around the world satellite imaging is used for military and commercial purposes.

Finally, satellites are used for everyday needs and wants. They are used for better communication (phones, direct link, etc.) They can also be used to broadcast radio or television frequencies.

Many many satellites keep us safe, and if you did not know this than you are either 8 years old or are too dumb to realize this.
