A truly brilliant individual that will tell you what's up real quick.
Step down from admin until you can fit the leadership role. You still work hard, and I respect that. I think you'd be best suited stepping down to either sectional or global moderator (not necessarily stepping down from staff as a whole, just as admin).
Thanks.
@Shin can obviously reply himself, but I felt a need to reply to this in particular. You and the vast majority of Sythe have no idea how much time Shin puts into this site and how he fulfills a role that currently no other administrator (or likely current staff member) could fulfill. Being a general administrator is vastly different from being a technical administrator. All of those little things that just "happen" on Sythe are tied to someone and that "someone" is often Shin.
Ever wonder how you could join the Sythe discord and go through an entire verification process automatically so you know who you're talking to in the Sythe discord?
Now, none of this makes Shin immune to feedback or c&c, but offering "feedback" and having the resolution be resigning hardly constitutes feedback; genuine constructive criticism involves allowing the person to improve on whatever is being addressed.

Mainly, I think you need to work on your communication. The way you interact with others is not professional. To be an admin, you should be a good leader. And being a good leader requires good people skills and being able to handle yourself maturely and respectfully, even when annoyed or frustrated.

Feedback can be both good and bad. Having some negative feedback doesn't mean there's drama, you just seem to want to be looking for some.I went to leave a feedback and noticed that there's a little drama going on.
My feedback: Head Admin, strong hand, shit must move on, or else you will be moved out.
I have trust in Richard's decisions and now I must have trust in Shin's, even though he pisses me off sometimes.
However, we are an organisation where strong hand is necessary to avoid anarchy...
Now I'll continue, but on topic to the little drama: ...hence respect his authority. If you want to file a report,
you can contact Richard, but I doubt he will give two shits, as losing Shin would have negative effects on sythe.org.
Have a good fucking day everyone,
Ripple moon
I concur wholeheartedly.Shin,
I think constructive criticism is better than blind ass kissing, so hopefully you don't take offense and try to see the ways in which you certainly can improve yourself, not only as an admin but as a person.
Can you please provide examples where I've been unprofessional? Are you trying to say I'm a bad leader, immature, and disrespectful to others? If so, please provide examples instead of speaking in platitudes so I can know how to improve.Mainly, I think you need to work on your communication. The way you interact with others is not professional. To be an admin, you should be a good leader. And being a good leader requires good people skills and being able to handle yourself maturely and respectfully, even when annoyed or frustrated.
A god complex? If you think that I feel I'm better than everyone else, then you don't know me at all lol. If you can provide examples to give insight as to why you feel this way, I'll be able to understand your perspective better. You come across as an individual with a bit of a god complex. Sure, it's important to be critical and bring down the hammer when necessary, but you seem to look for ways to complain or belittle individuals (sometimes without fully understanding a situation) just to feed your ego. Learning how to raise productivity in a group environment requires a leader that looks for ways to build and improve, rather than tear down for the sake of feeling superior.
I self-reflect multiple times everyday. Also, it's contradictory to tell me not to take things offensively while trying to accuse me of having a god complex at the same time. I don't take offense to things unless people are making wild accusations about me. Is that unrealistic?I don't necessarily think that you don't work hard. I think that you do, and that you do actually want what's best for the site. Which is why I would suggest some self-reflection, so that you can improve upon the way you present yourself and handle difficult situations. Don't take everything so offensively, and don't look for ways to pick everything apart for the sake of feeding your god complex.
Nothing you're saying has any credibility then. This isn't anything in particular, as I've never even really talked to you. Just observations over time.
How is this the site's best interest? In what ways do I currently not fit the leadership role in your opinion? How would becoming a sectional or global moderator be a step in the right direction? For the site's best interest, my primary suggestion:
Step down from admin until you can fit the leadership role. You still work hard, and I respect that. I think you'd be best suited stepping down to either sectional or global moderator (not necessarily stepping down from staff as a whole, just as admin).
Thanks.
qftNow, none of this makes Shin immune to feedback or c&c, but offering "feedback" and having the resolution be resigning hardly constitutes feedback; genuine constructive criticism involves allowing the person to improve on whatever is being addressed.
In order to know what I can improve on, I need to know what I'm doing incorrectly. This CAN be improved upon, and is constructive criticism. I think the final suggestion was in the event Shin felt he couldn't work on that in the time being, or was unwilling to, for whatever reason.
Alice can obviously reply herself, but I felt a need to reply to this in particular![]()
I can learn when given something to actually work with, yes.Feedback can be both good and bad. Having some negative feedback doesn't mean there's drama, you just seem to want to be looking for some.
Shin can learn from his shortcomings and work to improve - that's the point of FEEDBACK. Yeah leaving positive feedback is perfectly fine. It's cool to let someone know when they're doing well. But there's a bit of a difference between positive feedback and very blatant ass kissing.
Was also going to reply to Tmoe but Milotic covered that well enough.
I didn't really want people to know about this, but yes... Mostly because people don't need to know about that (and many others things), but this in-particular as it's something I shouldn't be doing technically.@Alice I just remembered something. How could I forgot that lol.
Few months ago one of our sythe member decided to take his own life.
I alerted Shin on Discord and he went and contacted him.
Talked to him for a good while and he didn't do it.
Fun fact, few months after the dude got banned for recovering LoL account, lmao.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that even Shin can be the person to talk to.
Can you please explain what skills I'm lacking or how I can improve instead of speaking in platitudes?I think Closer is right and I would advise, too, that Shin should step down and make his way back up by improving on the skills he lack.
A lot of people (staff included) are intimidated by me for some reason. I've never understood why, but it's been common for people to not understand who I am or what I stand for. And yes, we had some issues seeing eye to eye, but I still don't understand what those issues were. I didn't have any issues with you, but you kept saying you had issues with me and that we couldn't work together. If you'd like to speak with me about this, my door is open.I think @Shin would appreciate my posting this because him and I didn't see eye to eye so I will say....
@Alice yes I believe Shin could work on receiving feedback and criticism / the way his attitude is portrayed however him stepping down would be catastrophic to the site. He puts in work, anyone who believes otherwise is confused.
Can you explain what you mean by being guarded when others try to give their opinion? I always welcome other's opinions and value users as individuals instead of just some number.Like Dave said try not to be so guarded when people try to give their opinion (we aren't here to attack you).
Please tell me how I'm not handling "power" properly? How am I "extremely shady?" What did I "lie" about? Or did I make a mistake and offered to help after realizing what happened?I'd prefer if you stepped down to sectional or just retired from the staff team as a whole as I don't think you know how to handle power properly, you do a lot for the site which is cool but you also do a lot wrong, you're extremely shady and lied to me about multiple things the past few times I contacted you via discord.
To be clear, you're not entitled to a reason or explanation what-so-ever, but we try to do so as feedback for people to try and improve. I don't see anything having to do with the denial reason makes me "shady" in any way. I'd love to hear your perspective on that though.Lets start off with my Moderator Application denial reason, where you being shady starts.
He was busy and deferred you to me.I then message Hahanerd back
How is Hahanerd "avoiding" the question? Or what about his responses are remotely "interesting?"Interesting how Hahanerd is avoiding the question but I then go to message Shin afterwards
Is there something wrong with this? "not looking to argue" btwBeginning of chat with Shin
Okay. Saying something about the "immaturity" part was right, but I suppose you could tie that together with attitude too. I did miss that when I sent a PM to Hahanerd originally, but I don't know how or why (as I stated).2nd part of chat
Your picture had nothing to do with this.Fast forward a week and I decide to bring my application up once again as the inactivity reason didn't make much sense to me and it turned out I was right and inactivity wasn't the only reason I got denied even though it was my only denial reason. Here's where he gets caught in a few lies.
Why are you bringing it up then? And why are you trying to connect it to my participation on your application? Now you'll notice that he brings up the battleship tournament I hosted for some reason and how got paid late, why is he bringing this up when he will later state he didn't vote on my app then he will retract that statement? Is it because he knows his reasons for voting no on my app aren't valid?
Okay, so what's your point? It's not like I've been going around the forum trying to slander you saying you're not a bond holder or something. You weren't a bond holder and mentioned something about becoming one again. I received a message from Matthew the same day you initially messaged me and I didn't know if any progress had been made yet.Note that what he said about me not being a bond holder isn't true, I was a bond holder at the time I messaged him, Matthew just forgot to add some stuff which he also knows as I told him.
What do you mean by "hide" your denial reasons? You were inactive, had some attitude issues according to select staff, and quite clearly do represent issues related to maturity. I wasn't giving you specifics because leaking is against the staff code of conduct, but you can keep pressing me for it all you want. I told you exactly what I posted on your application and that my post didn't matter, as I was the last person to post on all of the applications. The rest of the pictures speak for themselves, Shin was clearly trying to hide my reasons of denial for some reason, who knows if he really only voted no on my application only because of "activity" even though it'd be a terrible reason to vote no it'd be better than making stuff up about my attitude which other staff members have seem to done and possibly even himself.
You did what? Lol. I was not even aware of this. If anyone knows how much I follow the rules, it's clearly @Divine. I won't protect anyone from the rules for any reason. If you break them, you will be held accountable for it case and point. That's funny though thanks for sharing. What he says below in this picture really got me thinking, if I had to guess besides him, Video voted no on my application as well. Why? I reported Shin and Video to Richard for using their powers to protect Bus369/Divine from punishments even though he should of been punished, I believe this is being held against me even though I did what was right.
Yes, because I actually reached out to the individuals who voted no on your application for something related to activity like I said. After seeing you responding to the whole situation like this, however, I'm incredibly disappointed I did anything for you in the first place or that Charlotte tried to be a good person and share her opinions so you could try use them in a way like this.Eventually Charlotte reached out to me with her reasoning for voting no and although she said she couldn't point to a situation where I showed poor attitude was good to see the actual denial reason wasn't inactivity. Also notice above how Shin said anything like this was dismissed? Was a lie as you can clearly see.
Can you explain what you mean by being guarded when others try to give their opinion? I always welcome other's opinions and value users as individuals instead of just some number.
It amazes me how much long-lasting or veteran users try to lay waste on the development teams (they're so useless!)
You literally threw a blanket statement over me. How is this treating me as an individual? You grouped me. I don't think I've ever opposed changes to the development teams until this one yet you throw me in with a group that is apparently always against changes. You looked at my ex-mod rank and just a
The people who look up to you will run with whatever you say. Notice how after you made this statement, users such as Andy Sandburger continued tried to invalidate our opinions with the same phrase about how we are just ex-mods that don't want to see changes?
I saw the pattern myself and as I explained, when generalizing it isn't pointed towards any one person. What do you want me to name every single person I think is guilty of something every time specifically? That'd be retarded. Stop taking everything personally when it isn't necessarily directed at you.
Shin had nothing to do with my statements as I don't even remember him saying anything on the topic.
