Doesn't the dismissal thing only apply to parking tickets though?

Ticket/Citations can only be dismissed by the Newark Municipal Court. This goes for both situations of running a red light. If you want to try and fight it for dismissal than you must go to court. But, I'm curious though what does your piece of paper the officer handed to you read? "Failure to observe traffic signals NJSA Section #39:4-81?

Unless it was by the Red Light Camera, the points will stay on your license. I'm not sure if that changes under uncontested payment, or if they have a driving school you can par-take in to prevent the points from hitting your license. These are things I would call the number in my post, or the number on your ticket.

I don't really want to go to a school either or something, but if I really have to, I guess I'll got to court since I know for sure I didn't run a red light. I'm just not entirely sure what I would say to contest it so I guess that would be a pretty big issue. If it's sheerly my word verse the cop's, I'm probably screwed unless if he doesn't show up or something.

Traffic tickets are the low of the low. I got a small possession ticket (in minnesota it's on the same level of severity as a traffic ticket.) And it took a whole 2 weeks for it to register. So I think it will be longer then 1 day or two.
