I used to gamble with 10m/ day out of a 400m-1bil cash stack. I would go small 1-5mil gambles and eventually reach 50mil then bank it and withdraw another 10mil and repeat. I don't think I ever lost my 10mil investment this way but I did get cleaned attempting to pull 50-100mil instead of 10mil, or getting bored and going all in.

It may be worth it to quit RuneScape completely if you find yourself repeatedly gambling away all your real life & in-game cash despite the repeated negative consequences. Even if you manage to stop gambling in-game, the temptation will always be there, and so you will have to learn how to conquer that completely if you want to be able to play comfortably.

If you really, seriously think you have a gambling problem that spans beyond the game, it might be worth it to seek some help in your life as well. A lot of people think the concept of being addicted to gambling on RS is really silly, but it is the actual ACTION of gambling your money that you get hooked on, and that behaviour will stick with you even if you managed to quit RuneScape. It will only be a matter of time before you begin gambling elsewhere - weekend poker games with friends, going down to the Casino when you are of legal age, betting on sports etc - and so if you really think you have a problem then you should do something about it.

Good luck, and I hope you can get this monkey off your back :)

Sometimes the worst thing in gambling can be to get a big win. As you'll forever be chasing it again.

Most people who stake/dice become addicted. When your up from what you started from, you want to make more. If you've lost money, you want to make it back.

As everyone says, don't bet what you can't afford to lose..

HEY GUYS! Thank you so much for all your inputs on this thread. I am very happy to say that I hadn't gambled in 4 days. I know that's pathetic to some but I am getting there. I will make updates weekly on my process of getting out of this addiction. :)

Yeah that's what I thought when I created a thread a while ago pondering the idea of gambling in Rs would lead to gambling in real life. Gambling is gambling regardless of what facet you do it through, it all provides a similar rush.

You really need to stop gambling, it has turned into losing $ in real life. If you think it is a major problem, you best tell your parents.

I personally don't even see how RS gambling is a fun party of the game, you stand there in W2 lagging a little, trying to talk to a host who doesn't care, and all he wants to do is take your money. If that is the only enjoyable part of the game for you, just quit. However if you're addicted to staking, I can kind of understand that, but you need to either just not do it, or work out a plan or method that gives you an edge. That's how anybody stakes successfully, as plain gambling will never give you a profit.

If you are addicted truly you should learn to control it, otherwise it will only be the same in later life, just with more serious consequences.

Gambling has always been addictive and betting in Runescape is no difference.

I struggle with this too and the best way to avoid getting hooked is to totally be pre-occupied with another activity. Maybe pick up some courses and learn new things etc.

Keep your mind away from Gambling and you will be fine.

Really good point, it simply encourages the madness.. I've never had a big problem with gambling but I've lost a couple hundred mil before and been super disappointed in myself.

    I lost 20m staking today...
Since I am staking, I never made a profit on the long term.
I somedays won 50m, but after that, you want more.
    And guess what?
You will lose all your profit and the money you invested within some days.
Just don't think about gambling tbh.
    It is very bad.
But some people (like me) are sadly, addicted to gambling :(

Don't listen to people who tell you that once you hit your goal "jackpot" your staking addiction goes away. For my personal story it is quite the opposite. I have spent nearly 10k-15k IRL money on Runescape since I was 13, I quit Runescape about a year ago once I realized how much money and time I was spending on the game. I am currently 23 years old with a great job working for the government... However I waisted so much valuable time and money I feel like I could know 2 foreign languages and have bought a nice nice car or motorcycle for the pixels I lost. I never bought more then 200m gp at once... I would stake it... get up to 500m, double or nothing and lose.... Repeat about 2x a week. If you saw my playerauctions account you'd see what a pathetic fuckin loser I was.. I have over 80+ buyer transactions of over 100m gold each time I believe. I am very embarrassed to tell people about this however if I can help someone stop staking/gambling it's worth it. I've bought from sites over 10x such as gold4rs, ******, from r2pleasant, usfine, ect. I cannot and donot want to know exactly how much irl I spent but it's sickening.

The main lesson I learned is that with my addiction I was never happy with the ammount I had... I went from 100m to 5 BIll in 2 days... and was cleaned a week later. Call me crazy but I was the type of person who was never satisfied on Runescape.

The only way I was able to quit was to enroll in college for 16 credit hours, work a full time job and spend more time with the girlfriend.

Hopefully my story helps some people. I am just typing things as they come to my head so I apologize that my words may be mixed in a lot of parts lol.

REMEMBER! In the end when Runescape bores you and all you like to do is stake, it's TIME TO QUIT! Sell your gp or don't play until you don't feel the need for staking. I would actually get a adrenaline rush IRL from staking... WTF was wrong with me ? The answer is ADDICTION.

Nice story but your advice is complete and utter bullshit . You didnt hit "the jackpot"
    1) Id say the "jack pot" doesnt exist, you could have dozens of mask sets, phats, santas ect ect ect theres ALWAYS a bigger score and a person with a gambling problem will always see that.. i mean you didnt even get ONE max cash stack ..
    2) A gambling addiction isnt something that just breaks, you had a gambking spree at most thats it. Even if there was a recognizable pinnacle of rs gambling all you would need to do is start on another account, greed knows no limits.

OT Just quit runescape or request your account be locked, ive heard of people doing similar things in situations like this and jagex was understanding sometimes the break of actually gambling is all you need to get your priorities strait. Glad to here you havent gambled in four days,
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS DUMBASS:
This moron should be infracted for such horrid advice, gambling in rs =/= gambling irl.. and you should avoid that like the plague as well. GL on your issue, hope to hear your off it completely soon

I've lost waaay too much RSGP/$. It's very addictive. Best thing to do is just spend it on skills before you have the time to squander it.

If you have enough money to blow to get to the Jack Pot, otherwise you could lose a lot :/

I'd recommend stopping now. You don't really need to gamble to enjoy RuneScape - and if you're not enjoying RuneScape or gambling, quit altogether. You could save some cash.

Hitting the "jack pot" will never break a gambling addiction. That is part of the problem... there is NO jack pot, no ceiling you can hit, no amount of money that will ever satisfy you. Once you get addicted to that rush of winning, you will always want to win more, win bigger, just place one more bet.

But the end result is always the same. You end up losing every single thing you own.
