Racist Woman on Train

You take away freedom of speech and your society will go down the toilet. If she wants to say "All niggers should be shot and burned" I have absoltely no problem with that. She has a RIGHT to do so. She has a RIGHT to speak her mind. She has a RIGHT to have an opinion that is different than the majority. She has a RIGHT to have an opinion that is different from the government. I think all this "building the society we want" bullshit that happens in Europe is disgusting. That's exactly what Hitler did. And banning the veil in France for the betterment of society? That's worse than anything this women said. You give the government the power to shut people up or "control" society and they will and they will do bad things with it. It disgusts me to think that she got arrested for the content of her message.

 

Exactly what Hitler did? Hitler was a fucking war criminal who killed millions of innocent people... where in what I said did I mention a war criminal? In nearly all of your posts you completely strafe from the point and ramble on about something completely different.

Building the society we want? Yeah, you're right, because what she was shouting in public are what cause riots, violence, hate and murder. So, you're saying these people should be allowed to spread hate, condone abuse and possibly violence to people of a different ethnicity? I think you may need to take a look at how you look at life in general. In what way do we give the government the power to shut people up? We give the government power to shut people up like her who make our country look like even more of a shambolic mess than it already is, the public outcry about this video in the UK says it all, it is not acceptable and it never will be. This comes back to my point that this is against the law - Breach of the peace in UK is defined by; "conduct severe enough to cause alarm to ordinary people and threaten serious disturbance to the community." That's what she did, against the law. It's not illegal to be racist, per se, but it is illegal to incite racial hatred.

She may have the right to speak her mind, but not when it arouses hate and mis-informed generalisation upon other people, what she needs to realise it's not in most cases immigrants that are destroying Britain, but it is people like herself, people who have no respect for anyone and abuse and misuse people's race.

 

Its also the publics right to be able to travel via public transport and not be hurled with unprovoked abuse, forget 'rights', think 'morality'. she deserves to be arrested for racial hate crimes.

 

He built the society he wanted by killing the Jews. Its not a very big step from stopping hate speech to spreading hate.

It doesn't create anything other than anger at her. It doesn't cause riots or anything else. I'm not saying what she was saying was right nor that it was okay to scream on a bus. All I'm saying is that she has a right to express what she believes in through speech.

I don't care what your laws say, to be honest. Laws can be wrong. As long as she would have still been arrested if she was shouting "GOD SAVE ALL THE PEOPLE", then I really do not care. But if she was only arrested because of the content of her messages, that is utterly disgusting.

And that is perfectly reasonable but she still has a right to say what she wants.

For speaking her mind? If you start doing that you are just a little bitty step away from arresting anyone who doesn't think whites are superior. If you can arrest people for "hate crimes" it isn't hard to interpret that with the mindset of a white supremacist. Now, the people on the train or whatever it was do have a right to not get shouted at while travelling but you can't arrest people for the content of someone's speech.

 

Agreed. I'm actually glad she got arrested. I'm all for everyone's rights, but this is just to much.

It's one thing to state you hate a race, but to use the profound language in public, let alone around children and keep at it just rambling on then that deserves punishment.

So any law that is created is just and must be followed no matter what? My issue is not whether or not she broke the law... Its whether or not those laws are just. True, but you don't just get on a train with a video camera ready. She was probably ranting for at least a minute before that guy thought of getting his phone and then did so.

 

I'm usually a pretty laid back guy, and things like this don't normally get to me. This on the other hand is different. To use words like that in public, let alone in front of a child is way out of line. Glad she is going to be put behind bars for this, and the fact that she was arrested surprises me greatly. I applaud the Wimbledon authorities for that.
