NOT being racist

This is a serious topic that im curious about.....(I am not racist at all)

I am a white male and most of my life a lot of African Americans have always treated me like I owed them something.

Slavery was like 200-300 years ago. Not a single black person now should be upset about that, and not a single white person should be blamed or told it was wrong. We already know it was wrong. ALSO the white people DID not start slavery, the black people were the ones who basically caught other tribes and then they themselves sold to other people.

I mean the Jews where almost extinct and they don't blame people, America dropped 2 giant missiles on japan and they never complain at us, Asians attacked pearl harbor and we never complain about that.

Why am I treated like I owe people things for something me or no one else in my entire family EVER was involved in.

 

It's stupid as hell, but I know exactly what you mean. I feel like because they went through a hardship, they oversee everything else that ever happened in history; thinking they never went through a hard day in their life.

 

People always have this problem in the U.S. I live in Canada and most if not all blacks aren't like this.

 

....That is some ignorant crap right there...No offense but you'll need to read a bit more on the stuff your posting. I'm not the most knowledgeable person to ask about the events your posted, but I'm pretty sure you have a LOT of historical mistakes.

If I make mistakes, please correct me...

1.Slavery existed for a long, long time....America pretty much refused to give abolish slavery even after many developed/developing countries implemented laws preventing slavery.

2.America was a British colony initially, thus majority of them were of WHITE, British decent. The British did not invent slavery but they did practice slavery by luring/capturing African natives. The idea of slavery was brought to America by the British settlers.

3.You cannot blame a single white person, you can only blame the culture and the people who reinforce the negative aspects. Again, let me reiterate, I'm not knowledgeable on US history. But, I'm pretty sure the leaders involved in the Civil revolution who supported slavery were disliked.

4.WTF, where does the Holocaust come into play? This is a completely different matter on a hugely different scale. Genocide vs slavery. I'd go with slavery, at least i didn't lose my life because I am a of a certain race or practice a certain religion....

5.Countries that get screwed over by the States are completely ignored. The hiroshima and (?) bombs were overkill. If I remember correctly, there were reports of Japan wishing to surrender a few days before the bombs were planned. Countless innocents were killed by the blast and from the radiation.

6. Pearl Harbour was the triggering point of WWII that caused US to enter the war...What do you mean you never complained about that. If people didn't care, US wouldn't have entered the war.

I'll agree with you that SOME, NOT ALL African Americans feel entitled to benefits and better treatment. They feel that all caucasian people should treat them better due the past events. However, they treat themselves like shit by continuing to use derogatory terms such as: nigger. They allow themselves to use the term freely, but whenever someone of a different race uses the term; they yell 'racism.' Ironic, right?

 

Because they grew up thinking that everything bad that happens to them is because they're black living in white society.

 

This "statement", if you want to call it that, really makes me question your intelligence. A good portion blames the white man/America for everything wrong that happens.

Not really.

Reason being is that for years after slavery was allegedly abolished, non-whites were still subject to physical and verbal abuse, not to mention forced into poorer environments. Not being able to get jobs, equal rights, or even decent living conditions in a "white" society forced some to turn to a life of crime in order to get by, although there are many many mentionable people who've done the right thing. And you ask why people think like that after all these years? Isn't it obvious? Your dealing with the offspring of the opressed, of course they are going to be informed of what events transpired and have ill feelings towards those who caused harm to their family/friends/loved ones.

And as for being ignorant, it's just a matter of being a product of ones environment.

You know as well as I do, to a point that having your great grandparents be persecuted ( not saying you're still not today ) pardons being an ass hole to everyone who's different from you. Don't try to give me shit by saying I'm ignorant, I understand your situation but at the same time it doesn't allow you or anyone infact to be an ass hole.

In my country black men are acting normally and we live mostly in peace but when I visited US I observed that some black people attempt to act like they were slaves and some of their family members were eaten by lions while immigratic to US. If they don't like white's so much let them move to their motherland. I am not racist but I dislike this attitude.

As i said, it depends on ones enviroment and how they were brought up, me personally i don't care about what happened, and i don't care about racism either, someone can call me a nigger and im cool with it so long as they dont get mad when i jokingly say somethin back.

Canada is different! Black men are Normal over in my neighbourhood, it's pretty rich.

 

I understand the trauma your people must have felt, but you as an individual never experienced such things so why do you feel you have to act as if you should be reimbursed?

 

Im polish, my great grandfather lived in Poland as did my grandfather then moved to America. No one in my family was once ever involved in slavery, neither where most current families. The past is the past. we (white people) as of now have nothing to be sorry for at all, WE did nothing wrong, and African Americans now(not one in which was a slave) has anything owed to them. Hell for many years women were basically treated as slaved (only cooked and cleaned, didnt pick who they got to marry, couldnt vote, were beat) they dont feel anyone owes them anything.

 

Most of you are saying, 'they feel like we owe them something', which isn't even the case. Kill Dank's last post is a great example to the false ideas circulating through what seems like the majority of the white race.

 

You make a very valid opinion. But on the other-hand it is in a sense racist the way you put it, e.g. "I am a white male and most of my life a lot of African Americans have always treated me like I owed them something." But i guess the fact you used allot and not all. I do think it's stupid and I'd agree to your opinion, but i don't think anything is going to change in the next couple of years, if not ever.

 

First of all, what the hell? Do you know why WWII occured? America entered the Second World War because of this.
