I'm not arguing about Christianity. I want to know why you would believe in such a concept as God.

insausage68 said:It's merely faith. I believe in him and the Bible. It isn't much more than that. There is nothing to explain. I wish I could, but I really can't over this board. And God isn't a concept, you are seriously thinking about it too hard. He is a being, not a statistic to be figured. He is, that's it. It takes faith to understand(partially understand) and faith to keep. Believe me, it would be easy to say "screw god, lets live life for the hell of it." That would save me a lot of time.
But, I believe in more than just this life. I believe in higher things not stuck to this earth. If everything that was on the world is all there was, how would that be enough? We can't be satisfied with worldliness, this is way to insufficent. We need more, otherwise, this world is worthless. Why would you want anything here? It will all be gone some day.
insausage68 said:Because Christianity is the only religion that supports God in the rightful place.
insausage68 said:It is the only religion that fully relies on the Bible.
insausage68 said:And it is the religion that makes the most sense to me.
Please explain.
Islam is the only religion that relies fully upon the Koran.
Atheism makes the most sense to me, yet only one of us is right.
insausage68 said:1. Other religions have God in them, but not as creator and controler of everything. Others have God as just a bystander and not actually a controler. This isn't worded well at all. I really can't say why. There are so many religions out there that Im unaware of. Me explaining the reason I chose Christianity may be the same in many other religions. I enjoy discussing this, but I really don't want to go too far into it.(not enough red bull)
insausage68 said:2. This is true. I've nothing to argue with. I know what you are implying, and, again, it is faith that God is correct in the Bible and that the Koran is not entirely true in itself.
insausage68 said:3. I can't make you change your view, that is your choice. You asked me for my view and I said it. I don't really have to be right. I know I am, and you know you are. We cannot disprove each other unless we dump our entire belief.
insausage68 said:. . . . . . . I am really getting tired of saying that neither of us can agree since we don't believe the same things. You think Im irrational, and I the same of you. We cannot reach anything since the entire discussion is an impass. I can't say anything at all that would change your opinion, because the obviousness that I see is irrational to you, and you think the same.
insausage68 said:Alright, well, I tried explaing that you cant apply logic to spiritual aspects of life already. I've nothing to prove to you. I may have at somepoint when you seemed actually interested in the truth, but trying only to prove me wrong will never get you anywhere. You have to try to understand things before you can disprove them. Im aware you know that Im wrong logically. But you dont understand really. You only think you do.

Seriously, last post for this thread.....uselessness at its finest.
well spirits are not logical..or rational, because they are studied only with spectoral evidence... religion is driven by fear. read the Crucible, it's the story of the salem witch hunts......and overall, the most rational person in the story happened to be the one who didnt attend chruch anymore....
