Police Brutality

There are some shady cops, just as there are shady doctors, lawyers, bankers, architects, engineers, insurance agents, and the list goes on and on.
However, police taking physical action is something that occurs to people of all races.
However, there are two specific reasons why your, "African American brutality" stigma exists.
1) Liberal media loves to stir the pot and therefore airs any incident involving white on black brutality. On the contrary, they say nothing of black-on-white brutality (both by law enforcement and against law enforcement).
2) There is this very basic concept that exists. It goes as follow:
Do not break the law and you won't have any problems.
There is a reason that, 99% of the time in these police brutality cases you hear about, the perpetrator has previously been convicted of a laundry list of misdemeanors and/or felonies.

Do the crime, pay the time. You can't bitch and cry once your arm is twisted backwards after you've stolen a car, driven down the highway at 100mph for 30 minutes putting tons of lives at risk, crashed the car, and attempted to flee with a gun on you.
It's bull shit. It's half the reason of what's wrong with this country.

I recently attended a seminar at uni about police brutality; the wife of the man who was slaughtered by the police gave her side of the story. It was all videotaped by a random stranger's phone where the person was handcuffed on the floor (his crime was being an illegal immigrant) and was being tazered by 10 police officers. One of the cops actually took off the victims PANTS. Yeah, some people deserve brutality, but some cops are just something else.

Sure, you'll have an odd case every now and again, where, yes, police brutality did exist. I'm by no means denying that police are always just in their actions, as sometimes they aren't. That being said, many people don't understand the dangers of being a police officer. In many towns where police brutality is "rampant", it's dangerous for them. At 3 AM in the morning, you're by yourself and a crazy man doped up on drugs starts reaching in his pocket, you can't just call a timeout and think it out. It's either him or you. While he may not always have a gun, it's not a risk many cops want to take. If people would just listen to commands, then the amount of "police brutality" cases would plummet faster than the stock market in 1929.

Agreed.
For the most part (and by most part, I mean 99% of the time, excluding that 1% outlier), police officers do not display unnecessary brutality.
HOWEVER, yes it occurs. We do not live in a perfect world. Every single aspect of our existence has flaws.
The bottom line is that if you behave in a civil manner and follow the law then you chances are you won't have any trouble. Like I said, sure there are extreme cases, but they are very rare.

Let's relate it to bear attacks. You live in the Appalachians. Your chances of being attacked by a bear, in town, are very slim. Obviously possible, but chances are it'll never happen. Now, if you go camp out for a month deep into the woods, your chances greatly increase.
The same principle goes with police brutality. Behave well, chances are you'll never encounter it. Steal cars, rob stores, beat up innocent people, and your chances greatly increase.

There is a strong correlation between police violence and illegal activity.
