[Need input]Market Redesign

It's fine but, I still say I want the xbox market out on the main page, but to be fair I don't think there is enough ps3 members to add a ps3 market along side it.

I completely agree, and that's why in my post I added a console market which could encompass xbox and ps3.

 

I guess that would help, but I'm still doubting how much activity would increase, or if the activity will be hindered, if we went about this suggestion. I still say we should have a trial, and then we can revert back to the original layout if it doesn't work.

 

Maybe, rather than having the two very similarly named categories "Other Games Markets" and "Other Markets", rename the latter to "General Markets"?

 

I personally feel General Markets doesn't really suit it - but I guess you're right about them being quite similarly named.

 

I just made something up. The name can obviously be changed.

As some other members said there should be a consoles section, and if not that the PS3 section should be made more visible and noticeable along with XBOX.

Price checks are already done in their respective forums by stickies, and if there is no sticky, it's usually because no one showed interest in doing price checks. If there is one specific forum for it then there is going to be a chaotic mess going on. Price checks for rsgp, diablo 3 items, iphones, party hats, xbox games, and everything else under one roof? It's a mess waiting to happen.

 

In all honesty, you should put a Buying and Selling sub-sub-forums for the Pures and Skillers sub-forums and the Other Accounts sub-forums. It'll make it easier for those to find accounts for sale or for the accounts one is wishing it buy rather than having to scroll through a long list of a mix.

 

Stickies never work and there is already a price check section. Tag your posts. Its not that hard.

 

Looking good, except maybe move Report A Scammer under Market Tools, rather than generate a copy link. Also, I think this would be a good opportunity to move up the Graphics Marketplace to a higher exposed area in the Other Markets.

No. A link will work fine. Moving the forum would make more work for admins when they promote someone since it's two sections instead of one for permissions.

 

Because I've seen over the years that people making threads makes people actually respond to them where in stickies they do not.

 

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but are you saying vBulletin 3.6.3 only has the ability to give permissions for an entire category at once?

 

They just give it to the category "Anti-Scam". If you move the thing you would have to give it to "Report a spammer" and "Report a scammer". Unless they are market and already have mod in the tools section. I also don't see why a link doesn't suffice.

 

This wouldn't work. Where is the Steam marketplace? And hiding the Xbox section in Console Markets would take away a ton of popularity. Not to mention the Xbox section desperately needs to be organized into subsections.

It seems like the Steam section is the most largely ignored section in the whole market. It's the second biggest market here on Sythe, yet we hide it away in the Other Games, and put SW:TOR market on the main page yet it gets shit all traffic.

I don't think that the Xbox Market gets enough attention to separate it into 3 different subsections. Perhaps this would work better

Personally I think there would not be enough traffic for Ps3 to have its own dedicated market on the main page. So many people have suggested it though, I think perhaps we should trial having it to see if it is viable?

I built mine off x339's. His design is great I just made a few tweaks. I've colored my changes

First off, I think having all the pures in one section will make it a bit difficult to find certain type of pures. For example: G Maulers, F2P pkers, Obby maulers, summoning tanks, and other pures will be found in the 3-75 category. In the 75+ category you'll find Zerker pures, Tanks, Hybrids, Turmoil pures, and others.

Secondly, If we clump all user services in one it'll be dominated by Account Upgrades. That's why I propose we separate that into it's own sub-forum within User Services.

Furthmore, the same goes for gold buying and selling. If we join those two sub-forums together it'll be far too cluttered especially if big company threads are often bumped. It doesn't give much room to be acknowledge by the normal trader. This way it opens up more room for opportunity to the individuals that just want to sell off some their gold

Finally, I have countless times gotten lost trying to find RUNESCAPE guides. They deserve to have their own section within the Runescape market away.

I was assuming the forums would carry their current subforums. Of course the Gold sales will have a buying and selling section.
