[APPROVED/REVIEW] Forum Redesign

I've created a draft for an entire forum redesign. I'm open to any and all suggestions or recommendations. Please understand this is not a final product. It's possible additional forums will be compressed or removed, rearranged to improve aesthetics and activity, or added in as a result of this massive overhaul. I made a lot of changes to forum names in the draft, but they are subject to change as well.

@R I hope you are proud of me. This actually only took me like 3-4 hours to do.

 

Get Roarys design out to compare, thats best redesign I've seen proposed.

Actually so many subcategories etc I've never cared to think about. Is the list above a current forum display with crypto added? Or your view atm, can we have a compare of what is right now and what you propose to change add merge etc its confusing seeing the list and not knowing half the forum anyways.

Edit: ok wait i think i just understood .....you want to archive those forums sub catergories in that list?

Edit2: Community Hub idea proposed by Roary, have all dev teams sections, sub catergory relating to dev team 'community input' 'suggestions' 'feedback' whatever relates moves to a community hub forum. Make it happeennnn.

 

Might want to switch Graphics and Security Center, other than that everything looks good.

 

Why remove Request a DNT? Might also want to rename "Dispute a Ban or TwC" as people can dispute DNT's now aswell.

An Xbox market but no Playstation one?

 

Shame SFA is warranting removal. How that section has declined so much over the years, just from observing.

 

To me it would make more sense to put RS name sales into "miscellaneous RS market" With items etc. Rather than have it with accounts sales.

Also maybe an idea to create a "Console Games Market" To become home to both Xbox and playstation ( as well as other console game related markets)
Maybe could start with just Xbox / PS and if there is interest then get people to apply to have a sub category in there added for Nintendo stuff.

 

Is the sports and fitness section really not used enough to warrant a subsection? I love that area

I think the gaming discussion should have sub sections of popular games like league so we could still have our place to look for duo partners etc. Also think the sports section should still be a section

 

Name sales don't belong under Runescape accounts - should be under Runescape misc.

Other than that, I'm a fan of the changes, especially the removal of all the combat categories for account sales.

Like @Laurie said, it's a shame to see some sections like SFA being removed - they have great potential but are underutilised.

 

Potential? It had potential and boomed once upon a time. With the steep drop in the average IQ of the userbase, the demise of the SFA section has become inevitable.

 

I'd say keep runescape with runescape, markets with markets, imo making just a market forum with a bunch of subforums would be very clean, also maybe have a link to the runescape market in the runescape subsection?

It gets more traffic then all of these combined and I've seen it have upwards of 70+ viewing during peak times which sometimes out beats the runescape market, its also far more active.

Remove cryptocurrency guides as a section, will be unused and useless.

CSGO belongs higher in the list, overwatch barely has traffic on sythe

Why does Xbox still get its own forum with 3 subforums?

Steam misc will be dead.

Remove the archives from showing to members/guests, just make them staff+ if staff need them to move threads there.

I found an old thread you made in the CDT a few minutes after Sonia mentioned it. I'm pretty sure there's a thread somewhere in the staff lounge as well.

 

It is my favorite section. Even though I don't post much there it is interesting to read through.
