make soliciting miniranks againt rules

Ive got half the forum fucking PMing me about my fry minirank and its annoying. If people want to sell they should make a sandbox thread and thats it. No more " hey will you trade for x" or "diceduel for minirank" solicitation BS.

One or two of these annoying messages are from staff members. Can we please make it where if things are not plainly listed for sale then it is against rules to ask to buy them?


TL;DR If its not listed for sale then it is NOT for sale. These greedy minirank hoarding fuckwits (including some staff) wont quit pestering people about them. This is a very unattractive element to the system and should be treated as solicitation. No, It is not for sale.

 

If they PM you more than once about purchasing the minirank without getting a response report the PM as spam, whether it's a staff member or not and it will be dealt with.

As for making it against the rules I don't agree with that, while yes I agree it may be very annoying to get a PM asking you to sell something that you don't want to sell I don't think we should punish everyone because of a few peoples actions.

 

The punishment is pretty unreasonable if they only message you once.

 

This is like me having some stat pic in my sig. Then people pestering me to sell that account.

How about we clarify it to not be minirank specific.

Like if its not on the market fuck off essentially. Dont solicit peoples stuff, this is a black market website im sure if anyone on this site wants to sell shit they would head to one of the many markets and do so!

 

This is a terrible idea.

We're an open market place forum. If you get spammed by the same person over and over, just report the pms and they will be handled accordingly. Implementing a blanket rule for something that was created to be traded/sold/bought is counter-productive. Sure, it might get annoying at times, but it's not hard to say no/ignore it. As I previously said, if you're constantly messaged by the same person over and over, then that's different, and we can infract/warn them to stop.

People always do this, and there is no harm; in-fact it's a positive thing. It's a constant normal occurrence. I think you're honestly making a fuss over nothing.

 

This happens 3-4 times a week. If it were for sale it would be in the fucking market. Just because it CAN be traded doesnt mean I should be constantly pestered by minirank whores and market fags.

This may be a black market but at the core of the sites community is a good number of us who dont have a thing to do with trading and want to keep it that way.
There are market sections for a reason, there is a place to do mini rank sales and trades. And its not my Pm box.

 

3-4 times a week? thats really nothing to complain a bout. I get spam msgs all the time that someone sends out globally on a fresh acc to try and get people to join their private server or whatever. Do you have a actual mail box inrl? you get spam mail every fucking day and if u do get it what do u at the first sight of seeing it? throw the shit away. It's not that big of a deal.

I share your grief - a while ago I was constantly pestered (think 10-15 PMs over a few weeks) for some of my ranks. However I do not share the opinion that people should be prohibited from asking others *politely* if the ranks are up for sale. I found ignoring them didn't work as they'd PM back asking if I had received their PM.

If you would like to avoid receiving PMs altogether I would recommend you keep in your signature a note that plainly none of your ranks are for sale.
