I don't mind any religion so long as it's not forced into society.

There is a messenge to be told and some people choose to spread the message. Yes I'm muslim and proud to be. We don't have any problem with the bible and respect it and we even belive in Jesus.
Yes ofc there is alot of religions and they all say they are right. But right there it's up to you to do some research and find the truth about every religion.

The Holy quran is written in classic arabic language. And when it's get translated it's not a Holy book anymore. The Holy quran is not very easy to understand, so when someone translate it it will be more opinions and it will lose the message of it. Well thats how i see it.

Divine, you have to understand that the Quran is divided into parts, and the verses you are referring to are meant to be interpreted during the time of WAR.

The Quran clearly does not preach to kill people of different religions, when the Ottoman Empire was spreading Islam throughout the world, people had 2 options: 1. Convert to Islam or 2. Remain whatever religion you are, but you must pay a tax.

The Quran also says that if you kill an innocent human being it is as if you have killed all of mankind.

Why do you continue to deflect questioning and criticism of Islam by insulting a religion this thread isn't discussing or entirely switching to another subject? It seems to me you have no way to defend yourself or the religion you praise.

I posted that because I felt as if he was attacking Islam directly, I didn't realize he was an Atheist. I made a mistake by posting that.

As for Islam abusing women, the Quran does not tolerate it. The Quran actually highly respects women, which is why 4 out of 5 converts in the west are women.

It is very sad for me to see women being abused by arrogant men who try to justify themselves by using the Quran. The veils that they were that cover their faces is a product of culture, not religion.

From the people that I have encountered and have dealt with, that have followed islam, they have given me nothing to speak well of in this religion. As I've said previously, I don't have a problem if they choose to move to a western country and blend in. But in a lot of cases they don't, this is what I disagree with.

I have probably gone off topic here, I'm sure islam do have some great views on the world, but many of the people that follow it do not betray them well.

I saw a 60minutes episode on islam so isnt parts of sharia law a good thing because it says things like "be a good person" in it?

I wouldn't agree with that, religion has been the foundations for modern society.. it has shown people morals & values.. the right way of life. I'm glad I took part in this as a kid.. it set me on the right path. I know for a fact that Religion kept me back from doing stupid stuff until I was old enough to work things out for myself.

As for Islam - it always has been one of the biggest religions in the world, Christianity was fearful of it's rise and so began war between the 2 religions. It's worth noting that Christians tried to colonise Muslim areas in an attempt to destroy their way of life.. sounds alot like what is alleged to be happening now.. only the other way around.

The media portrayal of Islam and all these clowns you see on tv talking about it - all stupid redneck assholes who are influencing the American people and twisting things to make it look like Muslims are bad and we are good.
