In regards to Skype Hackings

I have been hacked on my second skype account, I used an email that is unknown to ANYONE on sythe.org, and yet I was still hacked. This needs to be fixed on skypes side of things. I have an IP address if anyone needs?

 

Just stop using skype does that make since ? If you make another skype and your hacked again should be a news flash eh.

 

I don't see how so many people are getting hacked. Skype typically stays on-top of any vulnerability issues and always fixes them quickly.

You're kidding me, right? It's not a simple "password crack" that's causing me or anyone else to be hacked.. They are recovering our skypes using information they have gathered. Once you get heavily involved in the market, I take it you aren't, as I've never seen you before, you will soon realise your account will be hacked. I would put my bottom dollar on it.. so before you go accusing people that have no control over the situation, it's best you learn about the situation before doing so.

They don't need your password, nor do they need recovery questions as Skype do not set these up in the registration process.

Skype are useless with their security, so where you base that

I don't know, as this has been going on for some time now.

That's not to say some people are taking advantage of this siutation, but it's easily deteced with a skype resolver to see the IP address lodged with the account. (I believe).

I also assume that your comments were directed at me, so shame on you.

 

Nothing was directed at you and I've been part of the market for quite a long time, it's actually where a majority of my posts are, you're pretty new and I don't spam other forums.

I edited that comment to make it more general before you posted, on that note, skype security isn't great, but there are no actual VULNERABILITIES(there have been in the past, but it's typically fixed within a week or so). You seem a bit uneducated on the subject too, none of the information used in recovering a skype account is publicly available unless you make it so, which as previously mentioned is lack of forethought on your part. Having someones IP, actual address, and location are still not enough information to recover a skype account. As previously mentioned by another person in this thread, I too tested the strength of skypes recovery system before posting, the information required after testing several times is not readily available, even if they cracked my network and spoofed my IP, knew all of my personal information, it still wouldn't be enough. The information required is completely and utterly unavailable.

 

Like I said, you've got to be kidding me, right? I am not uneducated within this.. To be quite honest, you yourself said you seldom frequent Sythe.org, so I'd say that you haven't been heavily involved in the market whilst this problem has arisen. We are not dealing with a simple minded kid, we are dealing with someone with a lot of hacking knowledge, he knows the flaws within Skypes security. So if you're trying to say that, many trusted members, including those of moderator/admin status are liars, then proceed. But the evidence is there, with general information/Email addresses the person IS ABLE to recover the account. It is enough information.

Any email address you post on Sythe, he will record, and alone with that, if it is linked to your account, he will be able to recover said account. Then once he gains access, he has access to all personal information - in which he will use in further hackings.

 

And there you go, they have your email address. Information which shouldn't be readily available. You ignored the point and took something personally for no reason. I'm active alternating days, so yes I've been active through this entire fiasco, which has been going on for at least a year, only recently becoming more of an issue. You need to drop your assumptions, and what mods/admins? I've seen many mods/admins who have been banned for impersonating and scamming, and I see this thread as a way to ensure peoples safety regarding it, nothing more or less, so I'm bewildered by your liars comment.

 

That's correct in ways, but when someone asks where to send payment to for buying GP, the first email I used for my skype was in fact my paypal email. So that there was simple, although my second skype, nobody, and I mean nobody, had access to it. Nor did anyone know about this email address; which causes confusion on my end as to how they're doing it.
To name a few, I believe n4n0's skype at one point (Correct me if I'm wrong), was compromised, as was RSprods.

Bewildered by my comments is strange, considering you stated yourself that you claim a lot of these hackings to be malarkey.
Reason I took that as a personal attack, as you stated that comment directly after I posted that I was hacked a second time.

And also, you say it's malarkey, but it's simply not.. the way this person is hacking other people's skype accounts is a difficult thing to explain, as we are truly unaware of what methods/process they use. So until then.....

EDIT: I'm not here to argue the facts, as the situation that has arisen is there, and there's no ways around it until skype update their security measures.

 

There have been people with completely private emails that have been hacked there is another way they are doing it.

 

It's easy as hell, All they are doing is talking to Skype Live Support and saying that they forgot everything, Give them 5 of their contacts and then Skype resets their passwords
