I would say just one per transaction , like right before the gp transfer takes place. Could be annoying some times but it's better than getting scammed

Per transaction is best. Directly during the conversation. as in a 5mins convo, and before you wish to trade, ask for sythe pm, they should send automatically with what ever you're talking about as proof, I do this every time I need a transaction even if I believe they're completely trusted, it's just a protocol that I use when trading with others. Even if you've swapped/traded/sold/bought/purchased etc with them before, every transaction should receive a pm, clearly because you can never tell when someone is hacked.


IF they're trusted they wont be bothered to send you a pm
IF you want to make sure you're not getting scammed, you wont care to waste 2mins to ask/check.

This is currently what you should request, so if there isnt a rule to ensure everyone does this, already, then we're inviting scammers.

 

while I agree with this, I think it is up to common sense and discretion

Example: I will NOT trade you buy/or sell without a pm
but implementing a rule that is practically off site is not something we can really enforce... Is it?

It is unfortunate for anyone to be scammed, But really.. it is their fault.
While that may be harsh. it is reality.

I do support the thread however. I believe we should make it more aware that a pm needs to be made, and if you don't make the trade and 8 hours later you do... request another pm.
I think sythe does a great job already trying to limit the amount of scamming that can happen.

I don't think a snipet of the conversation is NECESSARY for a scam report. While everyone is SUPPOSED to, I am aware that some people do not follow this protocol. In this instance, either a confirmation of the skype they are talking to (with you able to prove that is your skype), or chat logs from the conversation along with the usual skype ID overlaying the chat logs should be enough.

 

All said and done it should be one per transaction. If you want to be protected by our rules then you should follow them. If you choose that you don't need a PM that's on you and it is an active decision on your part.

 

This will help alot of people in the long term, it doesn't even take that long to get a PM etc, people please just don't be lazy.

 

Just request a PM - anytime I do a trade I ask for a PM, even trades that are for $20, just do it...
