Homosexual's Adopting?

What does being gay have to do with addopting?
Anyone should have the right to adopt. Im not saying that being in a child of gay parents would be easy, but thats the way it should work out some times

Thank's to all of you who reply'd on this thread. The two main reason's I made this was because I really wanted to know your own opinions, and because I was watching 30days at the time and the episode was, a female lived with a gay couple who had two young boy's and a little girl i believe.

On the first page, I saw "Elementary kids dont know about homosexuality"... Honestly do they need to know? All it takes is a "Why do you have two daddy's and no mommy" or "Why do you have two mommy's and no daddy" Thats when a child's curiosity starts taking it's place.

Another person said "It makes them stronger" How many times does it make them stronger?

Stronger or growing up, emo and always trying to be suicidal?

Do you have evidence that shows that children adopted by a homosexual couple tend to be suicidal?

You are saying that if more people turn towards it. Its not a fucking style, or a clothing line that you just put on when your bored. Its something that you either decide, or might soon be proven, that you have a genetic mutation.
I really don't think mutation is the right word too use a little bit harsh...

having homosexual parents wouldn't make you suicidal directly however i know for a fact that living in a household with gay people IS a lot more mentally straining than living with straight people. Gays in general are bitchy and fight a lot. This may not drive kids too suicide however it certainly would have an adverse effect on the childs psychological development. As well as this gay cultures and lifestyles are certainly different but are in no way bad for a child...

All in all, anyone SHOULD be able too adopt. The adoption process should focus on monetary stability and the stability of the relationship NOT sexuality, race or anything else. However we live in a very judgemental society and sadly homosexuality is still somewhat of a voodoo practice.

Yes i think they should be able to adopt. The kid doesn't have to tell other kids about his parents. That's my aunt and my mom. End of story.

I guess i could agree upon that, and i like what you suggested Xtern

btw dark, your name looks like dorkspork

No matter what the family is, their always going to fight. That has nothing to do with this post, point is i don't think they should adopt "strait" kid's i think it's not an acceptable factor.

To me its a harsh punishment for the child. Being made fun of their whole life, and not accepting it, leads to depression, which can lead to suicide.

Adoption is a voluntary matter between the parents giving away the child, and the parents wishing to adopt. There is really no way that you can make it your business.

Personally i don't think Homosexuals are right in any way, but i am known to be intolerant.

Homos adopting is pretty hard on the kid, they will get bullied, made fun of and be victims of discrimination. Actually knowing that you were adopted and finding out that two men can't have sex would obviously have some mental impact on anyone.

But i might be completely wrong, it might be better than being abandoned or sent to an orphanage.

Generalization. Are you speaking factually on behalf of every homosexual household on this planet?

And heterosexuals bloody aren't?

Well Finn, no i am not but it is a generalisation. And if you think there isn't a difference then clearly you haven't had too live with/near a gay couple before.

Believe me i am one of the strongest supporters of gay rights but never the less my opinion still stands that it is more mentally straining too live with homosexuals. And until you have experienced it you are not in any position too comment.

i agree, i dont think this is fair on any child to have to go trough what they would do if they had gay or lesbian pearants i think it would be unfair

Please, learn how to spell before you come back here, thanks.

You get made fun of for ridiculous stuff no matter where you are, so its nothing different.

Read my above statement.

Also to you, learn how to spell before coming back. Life is not fair.

O no, everyone; we have a world class spelling champ here. Lookout O.O

You get made fun of more if you have gay parent's.

I don't understand - is it your business what goes on between the donor and recipient parents?

You get made fun of for the clothes you wear, where you get your clothes, even if your parents are straight, you will still get made fun of!

And no i'm not the best speller, but I do use proper grammar.

I've heard enough of the "rather have gay parents than none at all." Honestly it's not like these kids have one shot at getting adopted. It's not like

"Well Johnny, you either have to live with this homosexual couple or else your whole life will have to be spent here and there will be nothing you can do about it. Your whole life now hangs in the balance. It's your choice."

It's not like that at all, most kids have tons of different parents that would adopt them (assuming that the child turns down every couple that he meets).

Also, it's definitely not "necessary" to have a mother and father figure, but by all means life is so much better that way. Imagine a girl adopted by a gay guy couple, what happens when she gets her period? She has no woman to talk to, except her friends (or older sister, cousin, etc. if there is one...). As you probably know girls have such a strong bond with their mothers for reasons being that she depends on her mother in these times in her life.

My brother has a friend (former boss) who was a lesbian. He asked her if she would ever adopt and she (QUOTE ON QUOTE, LITERALLY) said "Hell no, that's not right for the kid." I remember the exact quote. Although other homosexuals would have different opinions, obviously, you can see that for the child it's probably better to have straight parents.

But if there ever was an actual situation where little Johnny should either have gay parents or none at all, then of course they should adopt, but how often would that be real?

Great point, but "But if there ever was an actual situation where little Johnny should either have gay parents or none at all, then of course they should adopt, but how often would that be real?"

"Little Johnny" Doesn't know what he's getting himself into, if he did know the circumstances would he still want to be adopted by them?

Oh really? Define "most."

http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/stats_research/afcars/trends.htm

"Between FY 2002 and FY 2006, the estimated number of waiting children was approximately 130,000 on the last day of each year."

This is the USA only, clearly there is not "a shortage of kids to be adopted."

Without a doubt, the more willing/caring parents available (gay or not) the better.
I repeat, 130,000 waiting children a year, in the United States only.

When you look at the graph, you right, "most" children do get adopted. But what about the 130,000 that don't? What about the other children that don't fit in the "most" category? Should we forget about all 130,000 of them?

What about the other children that don't fit in the "most" category? Should we forget about all 130,000 of them?

You also have to narrow it down to race. How many of these children are African American, Hispanic, American, Ect.

I'm sure the race of the child is a major factor in this graph.
