Because their beliefs conflict. Tell me this, why is being gay wrong? It's not a choice, therefore it would be a natural occurence, meaning your God made this possible/happen. Why would God not want the children he supposedly created to be happy and to become united? Why would he basically make those he loved and created segregated?

They can still be united even without marriage.

I don't get how you can say they are segregated when I've seen gays who go to church and have normal relationships with people within the community.

IMO, you're just being biased and just thinking that Christians hate on them, although there are some who truly hate on them, there are some from other beleifs or non-beleifs who truly hate them too. Just like how you're hating on the Christian religion.

I don't hate the Christian religion. Stop putting words in my mouth to fuel your own arguments. My entire family apart from me is Christian. I just find it ridiculous that one group should be in charge of an act that predates even them. Is that such a wrong opinion?

I apologize, but I'm sure if people other than Christians really cared then they would be something about it. ( gay parades ) Unfortunately the government doesn't care to notice.

- In the military? There is nothing wrong and there should be absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to defend your country if your attracted to the sex of another kind.
- Marriage? Marriage, somebody loves somebody and they wanna spend the life with them? Straight people are allowed to do it. Gay people should be allowed too. It dosn't make a difference if your attracted to the other kind, you can't help who you fall for and if its another person in the same gender than you, what's the problem? & as far as I care, a relationship is between the 2 people in it. Nobody else, not even siblings of one of the peoples sides. And if they're happy with each other then so they should be. Im straight myself and I know a few friends who are gay and it does not bother me one bit, and I wouldn't feel awkward with anything they'd haft to tell me about to do with their sexuality.

I agree. Vin Diesel is gay (sorry for misspelling, i don't really care atm lol) and he looks pretty friggin capable of defending our country. It doesn't matter about sexual orientation. besides, why is it OK for two girls to make out, but completely unheard of for two guys to make out?

I'm 99% sure the US military policy of, 'Don't ask don't tell,' was abolished very recently.

The fact that 2 girls making out is acceptable where as the opposite is not is societies perceptual double standard.

Like it or not society is dominated by men, and men are turned on by 2 girls making out but not their own gender their for it becomes socially acceptable, hence the double standard.

People seem so hung up on the idea that marriage is a religious institution between a man and a women and serves for the sake of reproduction.

That said, how come elderly couples that can't reproduce can get married? How come young couples that choose not to reproduce can get married? How come I, as an Atheist heterosexual can get married?

If I can, and any of the other examples can, how come a gay person can't?

Gays in the Military - im fine with that as long as they are not in a occupation that requires them to be on the line of fire.

im in the army and it has no place in the military. i have a twin bro in marines and have a grandpa has served in the airforce. so i cover most of the branches when i say,when you get a bunch of testosterone flowin between guys and a gay dude walks in and starts being gay, hes either going to get ridiculed or beat up. cause i know if a guy hits on me hes hittin the floor. no exceptions

Just because there gay doesn't mean that they are immediately going to hit on you moron.
Also, you seem to be very cocky.
They should be allowed in the military. If they want to serve and possibly die for there country, let them.

Homosexuals shouldn't be allowed in the military, if they can't keep it to themselves. if they're on the field of battle or at any dangerous setting, A straight soldier might not be as content with saving a homosexuals life. It's hard to work as a team with somebody that's not viewed as an equal in the group. Like a SEAL for example. The homosexual would be less of a team player, simply because hes not widely accepted. If they can keep quiet and not act on their feelings, i don't see a reason why they can't be in the military.
