Why do you hate homosexuality?

I'm fine with gays, and even being around them. The only problem I would have with them is when there are some who are "flaming" and I find it to be extremely obnoxious/annoying.

I don't understand how anyone could be against homosexual people. I have plenty of homosexual friends, my cousin is homosexual, and I have seen her kiss her girlfriend, and I've been to Provincetown a million times (for all of you who don't know, provincetown is in cape cod and it is a generally openly gay community). I'm not gay. But I find it wrong that people are disgusted by gay couples. I don't mind seeing people (regardless of their sexual disposition) kiss in public. I don't necessarily want to see them to go further than just a short kiss, but that has nothing to do with whether or not they are gay.

 

I do find it disgusting when gay people show PDA, but I also find it disgusting when straight people show PDA. The job I currently work at has a lot of interaction with the guests, as well as being able to see most of them while they're there. It's extremely annoying when people are doing an activity and they have to kiss every 2 minutes, or rub each other somewhere. I don't care if they're straight, gay, lesbian, crooked, or square, it is annoying and mildly disgusting (depending on how into they get, and you'd be surprised).

Back more so to the topic on hand. ShockWaveee, you're complaining about the biases and stereotypes that straight people have about gays and lesbians, but that very argument is stereotyping straights, and saying all straights have a problem with gays. The truth is that most straight people don't hate gays, and most gays don't hate straight people. You're trying to make it sound like no gay person hates straight people, but almost all straight people hate gays, which is a hugely unfair generalization, and very stereotypical. I'll actually respond to your argument when you can form a valid one.

 

From what I can see, ShockWaveee has made no generalizations or stereotypes about straight people. The question being asked is why people who hate homosexuality feel that way.

 

I have no problem with homosexuals in any way. I hold them to the same norms i hold every other relationship to. At the same time, I will generally look down upon close minded -ness with great distaste. This makes me far more uncomfortable than PDAs from hetero-homo couples

 

He's implying why do heterosexual people hate homosexuality, unless you're implying that there are homosexual people who hate homosexuality...

The main point I was trying to make is that homosexuals stereotype heterosexual people just as much as heterosexual people stereotype homosexual people. I was also commenting on the fact that he is even asking the question is very stereotypical, because he is automatically assuming most people have a problem with it or "hate" it. He isn't asking why do the people who have a problem with it have a problem with it, he is asking why people hate them. Perhaps he just worded it poorly and didn't mean exactly that, but that is what I'm taking from it.

Its not something I really think about so it doesn't bother me at all that they're are gay couples but PDA does bother me, I really don't know why it just does

 

i find "flaming" guys to be incredibly annoying as well. Personally, if your a guy, you should act somewhat like a guy and not carry around a purse and have a super high pitched voice...

i dont have a problem with homosexuality as it has nothing to do with me.
The problem with me is though (and please no flaming) is that a lot of gay people hit on me... i dont know why.. i guess i give off that vibe but its happened like 3 or 4 times.


oh and i also dont like pda, people making out in public i think is disrespectful, no matter gay or straight. if its a kiss or something its whatever but when they are making out, especially if kids are around or its a family environment

If you boil down the purpose of life, religion aside, it's essentially to reproduce. Therefore to me, homosexuality in itself is illogical. If it truly is something that you're born with, to me, it's simply a birth defect.

Now, I don't necessarily "hate" them, but it does make me uncomfortable and I believe it to be wrong on a religious standpoint. I don't understand why unless people accept anything and everything they suddenly become "ignorant" for not being open-minded. Who's to tell me what I can and cannot dislike, just as who am I to tell you what you can and cannot do with your sexuality?

That's more so "metrosexual", not really something that is confined to heterosexual or homosexual people.

Exactly. Human anatomy can tell us exactly what should go where. A man and a man cannot have sexual intercourse to create human life, just like a woman and a woman. Homosexual couples cannot have sexual intercourse, period.

I have nothing wrong with homosexual people, nor religiously do I have anything against someone being homosexual. When they start to act on those feelings, however, than I do find it wrong. It's not looked down upon to be gay or lesbian, it's looked down upon when they act upon that impulse with someone of the same sex.

 

"God" also created a genetic factor into homosexuality, and animals who practice it.

On topic: I have no problem whatsoever with homosexuality, but I do not blame people who do, I realize they were trained to.

 

Could'nt care less whether someone was gay or not, they're born that way and cant help it. Sure it may be wrong in the eyes of religion, but who are they to deny a person a happy life.

 

People generally fear, outcast, and hate what they're not familiar with or don't understand. It really bugs me when gays are targeted because I have a few really good friends that are gay and they are among the nicest, most legit people I know...and yet, they are being judged on a factor that they had no choice in. People should be spending time judging others based on their character, personality, and actions. But, as common as this answer might be...I think the problem just boils down to ignorance and parental or social influence.

 

My life is revolved around gay people and I can't thank them enough. Going back to high school I had a gay Spanish/Italian teacher he was really down to earth, respectful, and really funny. I have many gay males/female friends that I absolutely cannot live without.

Everyone has the right to their free will. I'm very happy for the NYS that passed the bill recently!

Most of what I have to say has been mentioned already in this thread, but I'll explain anyways.

Seeing a homosexual couple kissing has shocked me quite a few times. Not because I'm disgusted by it, or because I think its wrong; it shocks me because compared to straight couples, there are so few gay people showing affection in public. As someone previously stated, what most people have been referring to as 'natural/unnatural' could or should be substituted with 'normal/abnormal' and would make a lot more sense. Being gay, in my books at least, is not unnatural/bad, but it is certainly abnormal. Abnormal of course meaning the literal definition, not an opinion.

Seeing any couple making out, regardless of sexuality, is disgusting to me. Seeing one person's tongue in another's mouth disgusts me.

I can see a straight couple making out in public and maybe thinking in my head that it's gross.

When it's a gay couple, however, the two elements described above are mixed. I get the shock factor from seeing what is abnormal, and the disgust from seeing the making out portion. The combination of the two may make me let out an "Ugh" or turn my head away in disgust. Not because I hate gay people, but for reasons already listed. I think the feelings are similar for a lot of the people posting. As for the gay/lesbian argument, I'd feel the same way if it was a lesbian couple. That's not to say that its impossible to find it attractive, though. It kinda goes without explaining, but I'll do so anyways. Most people don't watch porn to stare at the dude's dick the entire time, I think the eyes are on the girl. A lesbian couple is twice as much of the good stuff with no dick, what's not to like?

Also listed above, I do hate the extremely flamboyant homosexuals. You hear people all the time saying "Not all black people are niggers, I don't hate black people I hate niggers." Well, not all gay people are faggots; I hate faggots. It may seem a little blunt, and I do feel bad for putting it that way, but it's how I feel.
