Just don't gamble. I don't see how that's so hard. You're making bad bets, so of coarse you'll lose money. Think about all the things you could of spent that money on. You could have taken an amazing vacation for that money, but instead you're feeling sick about the money you lost from a day and a half of gambling.
You need to get rid of everything that reminds you of gambling. Lose your club membership and cut up your credit cards.
You simply don't understand when you start it's really difficult to climb out of it when your down you wanna break even and leave that always never works, when you're up you think to yourself this is my last bet and i'm out of here, you lose that bet you try winning it back and lose more and more.
When you start gambling you think you'll walk out with profit and just stop which never happens.
The only way you can prevent yourself from gambling more is overcoming greed, that's pretty much it.

What don't I get the more you bet the more likely you are to lose money. The expected value of each bet is a loss. You said it yourself it never works. So if you have those thoughts you're thinking irrationally.
It's not easy to stop gambling, either if you stop for a week or two or a month you'll want to come back and make profit that you lost before back.
There will always be a thought if your head of losing all that money and making it back and just stopping for good. The only way you can prevent yourself by gambling is staying busy not focusing on money you might win or the money you have lost in the past.
He needs to stay occupied and forget about the money he lost and money the money he won from gambling.
I know I've had a problem for a few years, and is a serious problem. Hear me out please.
I make decent money from my combined incomes, and as time has passed, my wagers have grown substantially than what I was once happy with betting. Going to the casino with a $100 was once a lot of fun, then I wouldn't go without at least $500. That was 3 years ago.
Yesterday I walked in with $2,000 to my go-to casino. We are platinum club members and had free food and room provided. It didn't last long, So around 3:00 this morning we left after multiple cash advances, credit and debits that put us around $7,000 in the hole.
We woke up for brunch today, then proceeded to throw away another $1,000 on a few hands worth of blackjack.
The past 24 hours has been the worst financial loss in my life so far. When I'm down, I can't quit. When I'm up, I want more.
It's not the end of my life, but really more of an eye opener that I have a problem and need to resolve it before my lifes work is put on a deck of cards.
Anyone else overcoming an addiction such as this? I need some words of wisdom.
Thanks for reading.
put money in a bank account that you can't withdrawal from unless you physically go into the bank. works like a charm. also cancel your credit cards they are horrid things, although you'll have to pay them off first to do that -_-
I only keep $200 in my account per week now everything else gets transfered and I canceled bank statements so IO have no idea how much i have and I kind of don't want to.
