This is exactly what we need from every staff. Sometimes it just seems like its a debate; Staff vs. community. And then the debate always gets closed and it seems like every idea had on that thread has just been disregarded. I'm not sure how the community can actually see our suggestions and feedback inside the Staff Lounge but there has to be some way for the users opinions to be noticed.

Which is the reason I made this thread and was mad. Times I try to be nice and I just get attacked and it doesn't seem to work.

I know, and I wanted to just ignore it, but my defensive side got the best of me.

I have attempted to be respectful before, and it never seems to work and nothing ever comes from it. It seems like the only way to get things done is through drama. Last night I felt like one of the anti-segregation bus riders who were denied protection from state police because the governor said they were just "stirring up trouble".

    Respect seems to get ignored.

The members need to fall behind something. Very few of them are willing to put themselves out there and go against people. Just PMing people excludes them from everything which isn't what I want.

I apologise if I've ever acted like I'm on an "high horse". It's really not my intentions. If anyone's having any specific issues with me or my decisions (and no, banning sytheofficial was not my decision), thinking I act inappropriate please PM me and I'll do my best to become better.
    Thanks, and sorry.

If you really had a problem with the way Finn conducts himself around the forums (and from your original post it's quite obvious you do), you could of just as easily talked to him via PM or MSN instead of making a blatant flame prone thread. Don't lie and say you don't love the attention, because that's what half of your threads are about. They erupt into a shitstorm of baseless flaming. If you haven't taken a moment to notice the pattern in your recent threads, take one now. Even your title conveys your attitude towards the situation, it's counter-productive.

But then again if you do just look at the thread and not take what he types as flame bait none of this would happen. Every thread suf makes (whether it is flame bait or not) is interpreted as flame bait by the staff which they take.

I could go on and respond to each element of the post, but you pretty much understand my position from our MSN conversation, I think. I'll always try to get the wheels in motion if a good suggestion is made, and particularly it is made politely, courteously, respectfully, etc.

The difference between Sythe.org staff and customer services employees is exactly that: that they are employees where we are not. There is only so much patience you will have with people who are disrespectful when there is no real incentive to be polite. Such is the case that threads like this one digress into black & white you-say-this/I-say-that arguments.

I don't have a massive deal much more to say, other than I know I'm hot tempered (and this will always be incited by rudeness) and that I go out of my way to better this site and do considerably more than is required of my way in order to do so.

If only it were this easy. I'd love to be able to open up the Staff Lounge to all of your eager eyes so you could actually see how much we try to get done, but, at the end of the day, it's private for a reason: and that is so that we can discreetly tackle corruption and other crises which require such discretion.

In my post a few posts above I mentioned that I think to some extent the problems that involve the whole community (This tinychat situation would be one) should be opened to the whole community. Whether we just get to observe what is said/argued or something. You guys are the staff for a reason so I'm sure there is some way you guys could be a little less private. But for situations such as personal bans, promotions, etc. those should be private I agree.

I don't at all disagree, and a while ago what we were introducing (when the Suggestions forum was reformed) was a type of system where:

    1.) Suggestion is made -->
2.) Suggestion is thoroughly discussed by members -->
3.) If there is a general consensus it is moved to a public staff discussion -->
4.) The staff vote following the discussion

To give you a real world analogy, I've always advocated an open judiciary, for example, so that the citizens can see that the judiciary is free-from-corruption and is making informed decisions with integrity and honesty.

If you guys want to make a suggestion thread where we could discuss some sort of opened-up lounge regarding certain issues, that'd be fine.

This would be good. Like when a suggestion/feedback thread is made that is being debated heavily instead of moving it to the staff lounge (which to us shows that our idea has been disregarded) just make an "open lounge" discussion on it. Or something to that extent.

I think this is way above the tinychat issue. I believe this is just members with a sincere dislike for most Staff. The reason for this I'm not sure but I'm sure they have their reasons. But like you said lack of communication.

I didn't respond to what you said because you don't know me and are making baseless claims on two grounds:

1.) Because you're an evil Christian maniac who would love to see all homosexuals flayed alive :p
2.) You were angered by me referring to you as 'ignorant'.

As Tyro said, the Highly Trusted rank is given by Sythe personally for exponential service to the site. I've had it in de jure terms for about a year now -- I've simply readded it to go with my aesthetic colour scheme.

If he is unpop, its probably because hes an ass; and makes matters worse always.

    He should just step off.

I'm not sucking up to the staff in any way or disagreeing/agreeing with you.

But some constructive criticism is if you want them to take your suggestion to heart and actually think about it; don't use personal attacks. I can't find one suggestion/feedback their except your dislike for Finn and Tyro.

understand when you read this the voice of it might sound angered but it isnt.

i dont have a problem with you. im not christian im Jewish. I dont have hatred for gay people. i think the only reason you call my views ignorant is because they werent yours, and its not your place to judge what is and isnt ignorant on a subject when you only see it from one side of the fence. So you did add the 'highly respected' rank too (@tyro)....eh w/e i have better things to talk about now.

the biggest complaint i have is some of the mods, look back at my rant aimed at gohanforever and the reasons for it. (and basically all of his posts are half assed and are barely above the line of spam).

Anyone with higher power than the average person will obviously take advantage of it, such as a police officer that turns on his sirens every time there's a red light.

But, at the same time as it may be annoying, it is good to have staff members that a strict enough to get rid of people that are unnecessary, such as scammers, hackers, spammers, annoying kids, etc.

Syed was banned for excessive trolling. Is he a bad person? Well, he took a lot of the staff members' unnecessary time and frustration, but he's definitely not a hacker or a phisher or scammer or something. He's not a bad person.
