Fear of death

I think I am more afraid of how I might die, rather than dying itself. Like other's above me have said, death is inevitable and will happen to everybody at some point or another. I just hope that my death does not come while I am young, or in some kind of horrific accident or incident. I hope to go peacefully, when I am older and have lived a long, happy, healthy life, and to be almost ready to die at that point. I guess to say that I feel completely fulfilled and satisfied with the time I had on earth - and acknowledge that I would now like to move on to whatever lies in waiting.

I have had a few very close brushes with death and yet I am still here, breathing and very much alive. So I would like to think that my life still has some sort of higher purpose, some more experiences left for me, and that I will not depart from this world until I have lived a fulfilling, satisfying life and made some sort of an impact on the world and on the people who have me in their lives, even if it is a small one.

 

That is exactly what I think. I was raised Catholic and I still consider myself one, but I am starting to question my religion. That being said, if I knew there was something after death and not just a black void I would not be afraid of death in the slightest.

 

I'd like to say I'm not afraid of dying, after all, once you're dead, that's it, nothing else happens, your flame of a conscious is put out.

Although I am human and humans have a tendency to be scared of dying for whatever reason (human instinct?).

Since if someone put a gun to my head I'd probably shit myself.

 

As some others have said, I am more afraid of the actual process of me dying than being dead.

 

I'm only thinking how it will happen and what will happen after I die.

 

Im only afraid that theres nothing after , i cant imagine, no one cant, its fucking unimaginable, since there was always something. Nothing... I cant event think about it.

It'll happen eventually regardless of what I do,
As for what happens afterwords,
I can't even begin to imagine.

We are all here for nothing, we mean nothing and our existance is just a blink, I hate the fact that I'm going to die, but I wouldn't want to live forever, so it kinda makes me wish I wasn't born, depressing, but true.

 

Personally I am scared of dieing while I'm concious (I'm sure if your not sleeping, even if it is from natural causes it is extremely painful) I hope I go in my sleep. I try not to think about it though =P.

 

To be honest i am scared to die :/

I have great friends. family, girlfriend, life's great you know?

The thing that scares me the most is how well i die, If im going to die of natural causes like old age then ok cool i lived a long time i knew this was comeing.

But what i dont want to die off is drowning, being burnt alive, or anything to that matter is what really gots me worried.

But im not so much worried of death right now i am in shape i go to school have great friends i play football for caney creek high school im very smart

So im giveing some great advice.

nah im not scared because i understand death. everyone has to go through it. actually im intrigued by death. im a christian and i cant wait to experience the other life but im not eager to die. im just curious of how heaven will be like and my life so on.

 

I wanted to commit suicide earlier because I wanted to know if there was life after death or not

 

I am very afraid of death. The level of narcissism in me is extraordinary, so I want nothing to happen to me in any negative way, ever. The love in me for my two best friends, and girlfriend is a little more than towards my love for myself, but death is something that never pops in my head.

Since im a atheist , i'm not scared how I'll die or when I'll die. Im afraid whats after I die. Is it just a black void for all eternity with no meaning? Where nothing exist. it's just to difficult to understand. I *Wish* there was a heaven or a afterlife but like i said i am a atheist and I'm scared to die.
But I understand my purpose in life is to live every single thing I ever wanted to do because life is rare and you only have one chance to live it
