    Fear of death

    Are you afraid of dying?

I am personally not, once I am dead nothing will matter to me, but I would feel bad for the people I left behind.

    Fear of death

    Not really.

We're all going to die eventually, it's just a question of how.

    Fear of death

No, I've accepted the fact that I'm only living to die.

    Fear of death

That's the saddest thing I've ever heard. You couldn't accept the fact that you're living to change something, to brighten someone's day, to cause someone pain, to do anything at all, rather you accepted that your entire existence's only purpose is to die. It's this type of pessimism that contributes to the increasing lack of influential, innovative people.

I fear death, not only because of the uncertainty of how I will die, but also because of the fear of me not accomplishing all I've set out to do. I also fear death because it takes away my loved ones and, later, takes me away from them.

    Fear of death

Being scared to die and being scared of what happens after death, I believe are two completely seperate ideas. I'm not necessarily afraid to die, but the possibility of an infinitely black void where nothing exists is too difficult, and scary to fathom.

    Fear of death

I never said that is the only thing I will ever accept in life, it is one thing that I will though. EVERYONE is living to die, EVERYONE has to accept that at some point in their life. I choose to actually knowledge that thats what is basically happening.

I'm graduating at top of my class and will eventually be enrolling in medical school. I will change peoples lives, I will love, I will have a family, I will do basically everything you said to do. One thing that is for certain and once again, I have accepted, I WILL die.

    Fear of death

Let's not all be preoccupied with death. Whilst it is inevitable, dwelling on the fact does nothing for you but incite sadness. Enjoy life while it lasts!

I'm not looking forward to it, nor do I dwell on the fact that I will die. Lol, all I said is I've accepted that I will die one day. Like everyone should, I do not sit there and depress myself.

    Fear of death

Dieing itself doesn't scare me but getting stabbed does, the blade entering our body tearing tissue that will never be the same again if you live that is. But the thing that scares me most i being old, I've seen tons of old people and they all seem to either be in pain from the slightest action or sad to the edge of depression because of losing there spouse or living alone. To me that is way more scarly then being dead.

    Fear of death

I personally am an atheist, but in reality, I know there are somethings in life can't be explained through logic/science. With that said, I believe that whoever or whatever decides it's your time to go, there is nothing you can do. We take all life risking actions everyday (jaywalking and etc), but that one time that you do it, the world decide it's your time. That's why I'm personally not afraid, it's just that if I were to die and I had a family; I would make sure they would have enough support that even if I were to be gone, they could still live happily.

    Fear of death

There's a difference between accepting you're going to die, and believing that your purpose in life is to die. Death won't accomplish anything, so there is no purpose to be had. That's what I thought you had meant with your first post is all.

    Fear of death

My fear of death comes from the unknown. Simply put, I expect there to be some kind of conscious experience after physical death.

Why? Because as we know it, our universe basically spawned from nothing. What, and where was I before this universe randomly popped into existence? What, and where will I be after this one ends?

And... agnostic before anyone asks. ;)

    Fear of death

I do fear death. Honestly this 2012 stuff has got me a little worried. I mean I'm 25 years old, got a great girlfriend. If the world were to end then I guess I wouldn't be able to live longer with her. I also am scared of what will the other side be like.

    Fear of death

You shouldn't be afraid of the 2012 bullshit. They predicted many dates of the "end of the world" which have all been false.

Yes, I do fear death. I fear what will happen after death and how I will die.

    Fear of death

Is just a little weird thinking about 2012. I mean it's kinda weird. In Minnesota it's December 1 and we have 0 snow on the ground and it's sunny. I think it's odd and that I think it's scary to think there are a lot of shit pointing to something happening.
