I know what you're talking about. No, its not a lucid dream, but it happens to me too.

Lots of people who suffer from sleep paralysis sometimes hallucinate a figure 'holding them down' or sitting on their chest, preventing them from moving, usually in the form of something sinister like an old hag, a disembodied shadow, or a demon.

Oh my word... that's actually quite frightening. The Shadow wouldn't scare me, but the old hag and demon would, the way I picture them.

I get lucid dreams everyday, I know how to get one. You think of something with the t.v on or something then your state of mind changes and you start thinking of something else and then you basically have a lucid dream. I get that falling thing every month though it's so weird. It feels like your falling from something then at the end your feet just twitch and your like "what the heck just happened to me." Dreams are very neat things, did you know if humans didn't have dreams they could have memory loss?

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

Yup, whenever I get it, I feel as if there is a presence of something evil by my door. I actually looked at it once during it and noticed that it looked like 2 demons standing in my doorway in my room. Do to that, I sleep in a weird way, I keep like right leg slightly bent when I sleep so when it happens I trigger my brain to move my leg and I have a blanket cover just one of my eyes so I can't see the door whenever it happens.

But it doesn't even bother me anymore, I have had it so much that I know in my dream when its going to happen and when it does I get out of it within 5 or 10 seconds.

I've come to enjoy the experience. Though, at first it freaked me out, i think it's fascinating, now.

I've tried to reach SP twice on purpose for lucid dreaming purposes, but no luck so far.

sleep paralysis is fun, I'm trying to get it more often so I can learn to control it because it's the key ingredient to having an out of body experience.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I've only got sleep paralysis once when I was sleeping in class and the teacher told me to wake up but I couldn't move for about a few seconds and I couldn't breathe either. I freaked out, but it only lasted about 5 seconds.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I don't get paralysis but since I always sleep with my arm under my pillow(idfk why), my arm is so asleep that I can neither move it or feel it for a minute or two. It's kind of cool I guess. I have never had a lucid dream but I do try. I actually remember like when I was six years old, one night, I saw a man standing in my doorway and was unable to move. I asked my dad the next morning if he had come to my door and he said no. I wasn't dreaming, in fact I hadn't even fallen asleep when I saw the man. I don't believe in ghosts, spirits, or anything irrational but I remember it clearly.

Thats sleep paralysis right there, a lot of the time it doesn't feel like you have even fallen asleep.

Sometimes, I close my eyes for only a minute or so and it happens, its always right before I go to sleep too.
