Well, no and no.That still doesn't justify your claim. I'm defining global warming as the warming of our Earth in a general sense. If you state that increases of global temperature are cyclical and would occur regardless of human existence, you've already conceded that it cannot be caused by humans, merely encouraged, or that the effects may be magnified.
The wrong assumption here is that there is some sort of mutual necessity between two very different causes.
My logic:
Global warming/cooling trends in the past have been part of a natural and cyclical process.
- Does this mean that the current warming trend is natural? No, past occurrence is NOT proof of either the present or the future.
- Does this mean that the earth would be warming regardless of human process? No, not necessarily. Although the evidence is strong enough to suggest that sometime in the future, a warming trend WOULD probably occur, it is not enough evidence to prove that our current status is a result of such.
- Could the earth be warming because of both natural and human causes? Yes, but I am supporting the latter until evidence of the former can be brought about. After all, the current era we are in had a rather unique temperature stability
