Do you believe Global Warming is real?

Well, no and no.

The wrong assumption here is that there is some sort of mutual necessity between two very different causes.

My logic:
Global warming/cooling trends in the past have been part of a natural and cyclical process.

- Does this mean that the current warming trend is natural? No, past occurrence is NOT proof of either the present or the future.

- Does this mean that the earth would be warming regardless of human process? No, not necessarily. Although the evidence is strong enough to suggest that sometime in the future, a warming trend WOULD probably occur, it is not enough evidence to prove that our current status is a result of such.

- Could the earth be warming because of both natural and human causes? Yes, but I am supporting the latter until evidence of the former can be brought about. After all, the current era we are in had a rather unique temperature stability

 

How so? Co2 is an established greenhouse gas and we are definitely emitting Co2. Argumentum ad ignoratum only applies to qualitative, not quantitative arguments.

The general concern now isn't an actual debate of whether or not the earth is warming, but rather the source of such warmth.

- "Naturalists" argue that Co2 is a rather weak greenhouse gas, and past evidence shows that there must be other causes for cyclical warming periods.

- I would argue that no current evidence supports the advent of a natural warming period, and that past evidence is not enough to dictate that our current warming situation is natural. Therefore, given the logic above, I would lean towards human-caused warming.

You seem to be telling me that the warming period MUST be natural, and that humans are only catalyzing this effect. This is a faulty assumption because the past is not a definitive indicator of the present or future.

 

I believe global warming is real, but it's a natural occurrence. Politicians are over exaggerating the effects. OP: You worded the question wrong.

 

i dont think we caused it. im realy quit tired f the save the planet crap. the planets always going to be here and their will always be people on it. lets stop spending money on "saving the planet" and startsaving people

global warming is a natural process, a layer of co2 is high in the atmosthere which keeps the earth warm.

without that thin layer of co2 the average world temperature would be -18 degrees centigrade, and life could not exist. the process is natural and needed for life.

this was fine, but with the use of fossil fuels and other things, the layer has thickened and the earth is now getting warmer as the layer thickens.

Global Warning is potentially caused by us, but it is a natural cycle. The sun and the earth both go through changes. They may be "evolving" as we speak. Scientists have shown that it is possible for Jupiter to become a Sun. As it is a gas planet with high amounts of UV rays attarcted to its poles, causing it to heat up. IT may ignite. If you beleive in 2012. (which i do). We may become enlightened by something. OR we may hit another Scientific break through. The date co-incides with many other great achievements. E.g. 1st written language, 1st spoken language etc.

Global Warming is HOW the planet evolves. There were Ice Ages and we didn't do anything. It is a cycle. At this minute we may be evolving into a gas giant and then eventually the earth may be a sun.

Earth will never become gas nor giant. What did you pull that idea out of?

 

Global warming is good, help keeps us warm. but too much global warming is bad, can fell the intense of the heat atm.

And i can almost say every year getting warmer and warmer. But again might just be my imagination.

Well it stands to reason that if Jupiter can turn into a sun. Then why can't the earth? If you can find a VALID theory to disprove this? let me know.

 

Jupiter does not have enough mass to generate nuclear fusion at it's core.

Same goes with the earth.

 

Global Warming is Real.

Its just really vague how badly its actually affecting us. Many of us dont even realise the effects of global warming and pollution.
Another issue relating to Global Warming is our environment. With the ice caps melting at exponential rates it affects all of us, namely the environment. Some of us may not already know this but with no plants/trees, there is no source of oxygen.
Back when the Earth was FIRST created (not gonna go into how it happened, thats a completely different arguement). One of the first sources of life were plants. The Earth was inhabitable by human being as only a tiny portion of our atmosphere was oxygen. After billions of years of Photosynthesis, PLANTS AND TREES were able to turn the Earths atmosphere into 21% oxygen, which is a huge amount. So when we burn more fossil fuels/cut down forests/increase carbon emissions. Its ultimately creating our own destruction.

Photosynthesis started in the sea, and is still going strong there. I couldn't find exact numbers as too how much of the oxygen is produced at sea, but plants and trees are not solely responsible for the Earth's oxygen.

Conclusion: With no plants/trees, there is a source of oxygen.
