Diplomacy errors.

What's wrong with preparing? I'd totally support the thread being spread around if it were actually deleted, I felt that the thread raised a number of good arguments and I'd see it as quite corrupt if they just disappeared and went unadressed. Of course that doesn't go for it being moved to the SL, but even since that happened I've seen no discussion from the two members who could actually affect the situation (Sythe and Finn).

I think what everyone wants to know is:

1. Will Finn or Sythe ever address this whole situation?
2. Will the banned members remain banned?

The first question yields what I want to know.
The second question has been addressed by SMR with reasons for banning the users.

 

The members were just discussing their concerns and the future of this site. As you can tell already, Powerbot is notorious for the corruption in their staff. I'd honestly hate to be heading that way, but it seems like we are. I'm not here to backstab the staff, etc., but those people were just addressing their concerns and were honestly looking for a change. Banning people with little justification doesn't solve the problem.

 

I agree, it gives the image that the staff are somewhat corrupt.

 

Agreed. The main reason I am looking for absolution is that members are scared to post what they truly believe in fear of being banned or shunned. With absolution will come regained courage? Hopefully.

 

If the admins don't realize they don't always know best we're definitely going in that direction.. it's pretty bad when even globals can do nothing to change what they and the vast majority of the public think is wrong

 

Perhaps someone should be questioning what you decide as you've pretty much turned this into an abortion all by yourself. When you start publically dissing your own Globals, you've got problems there chief.

 

Exactly. Sometimes listening to the community as a whole can better things for the present and the future. It's not like we're rebels against the staff, but we're just here to give our ideas and our suggestions to strengthen this forum. Giving out bans for people who have a different opinion than what is expected is just wrong and not right. I probably seem like a hater or whatever for posting this, but I'm posting this for the better.

Think it will happen sooner or later, till then my judgements reserved. Regardless of how things may seem at the moment, I've learned there's always two sides to the coin and it's best to see both before doing anything.

edit: FTR, i'm not trying to target you SMR. i've got nothing against you personally, i'd just really like to see some changes here for the better of sythe.

 

My view on Tyro's thread is this:

Finn is granted, along with all of the administrators, power that hardly anybody takes the time to realize. Sin and Tyro are one of the few people who do realize what a "Rogue Admin" can do if he felt the urge to use the AdminCP in a specific way. Compared to what Finn can do, the whining in Tyro's thread was tiny. The only egregious thing in there I noticed was that Finn admitted to scamming in 2008. On that note, let's take a look at the pardon list and cross-reference that with the current (and recent) staff of Sythe....

Perhaps it can all be demonstrated by somebody whom I respected adding me on MSN to argue that Finn needs to go down. The torches were lit; the pitchforks were raised. I insisted on knowing why. Because Finn's now an Ogre for having a personality type that creates contention, not because Finn really does anything wrong.

Like I said in the now-redirected thread, we all have a shit list. In my opinion, the shit list that Finn had was known by most of us. I wasn't surprised by any of the entries, at the very least.


I'm with Gohan sort-of, but my list of questions can be simplified to: "Why was Tyro banned?"

This is perfect. Moving like powerbot is horrible, and that definitly shouldn't happen. Also Banning people only makes the problem worse.

 

Honestly, based on what has happened in the past couple of days, I am disappointed at the approach the staff (admins) took. Some of you say that we might be heading toward the corrupt staff powerbot has; I say we already have. Unless some changes occur soon, (I would be a little more specific, but I'm afraid of posting my input) the future of Sythe doesn't look well.
