Can we make this a universal rule for marketplace thread creations.

There are some many account, services, gold threads without people putting prices.

Then you message them and they still don’t have a price in mind and it becomes a headache.

Every other type of Marketplace requires their users to post a price to get rid of all the bullshit.

for questing services i dont agree. different stats, gear, and account status, all factor in when pricing, especially for the higher tier quests

This and also many other factors play a role, such as order size, current stock/amount of orders, person you deal with (different people behave differently, some people are just pain do deal with so you might want to charge them more, or your workers might demand better pay). Some sythe users like to negotiate the price with each customer. If I had to list 50 different scenarios in my thread, just to not get the thread locked, I would most likely reconsider doing business on sythe at all.

tl;dr if someone doesn't display the price and you don't like it, don't contact them, it's their problem.

    No support.

First people want threads where if people put the price, it’s 100% up to date and correct. This is a nuisance since prices can constantly change, so people just remove the price to not have to deal with the hassle. Now, we’re asking to force them to have a price which, in some markets, they don’t know what they want, and in others the price can change every hour depending on stock?

Another reason I can think of is automated price changes. For example our price on www.fifacoins.com changes automatically when our supplier makes changes. For this reason I think our thread can't be up to date unless we are able to have some sort of RSS feed in our thread. I bet many shops would like their prices up to date too without having the hassle to do so. However if it's possble on a technical level is an interesting question.

I understand where you're coming from but I do not support for these reasons:

    1) If I were to sell something that I am in no rush to sell, I may advertise it for "offers only" or in the form of an auctions in which I sell to the highest bidder.

    2) If I sell something with a dollar value in mind, I may negotiate with the buyer on the value of the gold/crypto/etc to take into account currency conversion fees and other payment processor fees. In other words, I may sell something for $100, but if they pay in gold or crypto we may settle at $110-120 depending on if I cover fees and conversion, they cover fees and conversion, or we meet in the middle.

If someone wants to take the trouble to manually set prices and keep them up to date, then they'll get more business. I went with @Wink's questing service for my RS3 main because it had prices listed on it, as opposed to threads with stuff like "PM for prices".

Therefore, no support. The free market already provides sufficient incentives for sellers to do this without needing to force mods to do more work.

No support, that’s why u add them and say the following words, “can I get a quote”. The quester/service provider then gives u a quote based on ur stats and such, etc. it’s a free market

No support as well, especially when it comes to accounts and services. People take quotes on purpose. Point of being a free market.

In the spirit of being a free market, we would not force this upon users.
