[Denied]Allow Graphics designer funrank to link to GFX thread

People who hold the Graphics Designer funrank should have the ability to link their designing thread to their funrank

If individuals like OMM's can link their OMM thread to their rank and staff are able to link their feedback to their rank, then why are GFX designers not allowed to have their thread linked to their Graphics Designer rank. After all, the people who have been awarded this rank are considered some of the best designers.

If this is already a thing then feel free to close this, but currently it's not known that GFX designers have the ability to link their threads to their rank.

This 'fun' rank does not have a clearly defined definition let alone a thread detailing how to receive it. You cannot apply for it either.

You can apply for OMM, CDT, PR, and all of the other ranks that are linked to threads.

Very few people have the rank and it is handed out at will by Sythe himself to many people that are not even active anymore

Too few people hold the rank, that is correct, so what harm does it bring to allow users to have their GFX thread linked to their rank. They have achieved it in one way or another, if "too many" inactive people have it, there could be a GFX designer purge and it would be handed down to good active designers, but that's not the point of this thread

You cannot apply for this rank. That is my reasoning and opinion on why it should not be allowed to be linked to GFX threads.

 

But why should ranks that you can apply for be a requirement in order for them to have hyperlinks attached to those ranks?

Also looking at that point Bolt - don't forget, you can't "apply" to be a TWC but you can click the link to go to their "TWC" reason. Also not to mention, TWC's are handed out on a case-by-case basis, there is no guaranteed "set" definition for a user to be set in the TWC usergroup

"TWC is usually issued when the activity is not enough for a ban but is suspicious and is simply a way of saying, be extra careful when trading with this user. You can always PM a moderator about your TWC reason or dispute it if you think you don't deserve it. You can have your TWC removed, but you must show a reform of character, good posting around the community and accumulating vouches which show you are reliable and honest. Only then would I recommend you ask for removal. After all, they are there for other members safety."

How many active GFX artist fun ranks are there that are in dire need of their threads to be linked to their rank please let me know.

Compare this to the amount of TWC's that are on the site.

Again, I am not a lawyer and this is my opinion please feel free to recite me the constitution in your rebuttal, I do not go into third party arbitration so we can duke it out here if you catch my drift.

TWC reasons are attached to the rank itself, you are able to PM a moderator regarding your TWC reason and/or dispute it to get it removed, but you're also allowed to request most other ranks to be removed. For example, there is a set period of time, sure you can apply for OMM but you have to maintain the rank (or you can request for it to be removed if you're not able to maintain it as far as I know), equally you must maintain your activity in the community/market for you to have your TWC removed.

Just because Graphics artists aren't in dire need to have their ranks link to their thread doesn't mean it's not a nice perk to have added to the rank. As I said, funranks are rare and hard to come by, adding a few extra minor perks isn't going to cause harm to anyone.

As mentioned earlier, TWC's are more common than GFX funrank, bear in mind that Global Moderators and sectional mods (as far as I know) CAN hand out TWC's, however GFX funrank CAN NOT be handed out by Globals/Sectionals, funranks can only be given out by Administrators of the site.

You said that you can APPLY for all of the ranks that have threads linked to them. That's simply not the case.

 

And my post was just my opinion on why this suggestion is completely needless.

This is needless as there are like 4 GFX artist fun ranks and 2 of them are active?

- All of the Halloween fun ranks that were awarded to the thread that year where the winner was announced

- All of the Christmas fun ranks that were awarded to the thread that year where the winner was announced

- All of the Competition winner fun ranks that were awarded to the thread that year where the winner was announced

- As an informed Sythian I would like to know where and how and exact year these really rare fun ranks were awarded

No support , from a business standpoint. All the fun ranks link to a specific profile / motive that benefits Sythe in the way of mod/ cdt team / PR team / twc (links to the reasoning to trade cautiously with this person). A gfx kinked fun tank is linking to someone’s work/business. I would of loved this when selling names, or selling gold or seling accounts or selling etc etc etc etc. Promote your business someway elses, this makes it to easy, maybe they can pay extra for Sythe to hyperlink their gfx fun rank ? Just like a sponsorship

 

Ok lets say this

Sythe has a userbase of over 1,159,090 according to what the member number is shown in the search bar when you click on a user

Of those, you need to be a $300+ donator to get a custom rank.

If we use 5% and be generous of the number of users at the moment shown according to Sythe which would be 541,241 (at the time of posting this) that would be 27,062.05 and if we use whole numbers that would be 27,062. If that doesn't already prove that funranks are hard to come by I don't know what will.

I'd like to get you this information but also consider that there are a significant number of users who have held the Graphics funrank and been banned (for example Felix) so there's no "real" way to get the data unless an administrator or @Sythe himself releases the exact numbers of who has what rank (banned or not). When a user is banned, their funranks won't show until they're unbanned.

I still don't know what you're on about talking to me like I'm here to sue you. When did I ever say I was going to sue you for disagreeing with me.

As I said this suggestion was posted to add a minor perk to an already rare/exclusive funrank. The people who hold this rank are considered some of the top designers. People like MoonGlare were and are considered high quality designers.

 

I'd like to hear some staff opinions on this as well @Gladiator @Zero @Wortel @Pendulum

 

Seems to be a bit unfair from a market standpoint. The OMM's having their thread linked is to promote trading safely.

 

How would any new gfx designers get noticed?
