This would be a good idea if it applied to all pets not only dogs not sure if you meant all pets or not cause you said "Sythe dog show contest" and then contradicted yourself by putting "where we put up pictures of our dogs/pet" good idea nonetheless.

 

August 17th is actually my birthday. But I have to go to work that day, and I live in Norway. Will be pretty hard for me to make it in time

The cdt is having a meeting on skype/discord today to discuss summer events. I'm going to bring this to the attention of them at the time of the meeting.

I apologize because from your guys point of view this looks horribly unorganized.

i know you guys can get busy to remember each and every event per different section, I'm sure you guys have somewhere you collectively know what events are happening etc. But it looks like that thread wasn't updated for over a month. So, the submissions for summer minirank event ... the submissions for SOTM event(excluding one time use of @ tag idea), had minimal awareness.

That's why I suggested a subscription thread. or CDT event Skype chat.

This way specific staff (community mods) don't need to be the pin-point factor in editing that News thread.

 

Hey @Sonia the submissions for SOTM not being on that thread is my bad. It was my event to run, I recall asking it to be updated on the thread but did not follow up myself.

As for stuff that we are currently doing, we also have 3-5 things in the CDT forums we are working on internally which includes a large range of stuff like improving seo for the site, forum icons, CDT guides, and various other stuff that I'm probably not allowed to talk about publicly.

As for the 50-50 raffle for Jon, I'll see if I cant get somebodies attention to get that posted. All of our CDT members are hard at work pouring lots of our available time into that specific event; and for good reason, so we appreciate your understanding while we work together as a community to help out Jon's family.

In the future if you see event(s) that are up and not posted please dont hesitate to contact anybody with community perms (community mod, global) to get it fixed, Also in the past I have reported the post with the event link to get it updated

 

Just gonna throw down some FAT appreciation at the commdev team, looks like you guys haven't been getting appreciated recently. Glad the raffle went down so smoothly. Fuck you @Tyler

Someone deleting @Sonia's awful post that I criticised early but I'm going to repost about it anyway, hopefully in a manner that isn't "trolling".

The CDT screwed up, massively. Like off the charts massively. And when you just make a post saying "oh we'll fix it, @Dunworry", we are not going to believe you. You need to be open and honest and transparent like @video is, which amazingly happened in the spam forum and not somewhere nice and civil. The CDT team needs to be open and honest and not try to hide their mistakes like @Dunworry is trying to do for you.

 

Scratch the whole thing. Let Syed build the CDT

What are your suggestions on how to get it advertised better? @Excelont currently bumps thread in sf. We have posts in our news sticky. Maybe we could create a thread in the livestream section of the website.

I don't think it would be beneficial to post on any of the PR stuff.

 

Stop trying to sell it like a sythe stream. He's a streamer and he's on sythe. Gotta enjoy streaming and keep to a reasonable schedule, not 1ce/week.

If the CDT forum was open you would get feedback from more than just one person on how badly advertised things are and you would get a lot more ideas. Openness is not just about transparency. It is better.

 

Remove the pm to vote system for SOTM. Bring back the thread poll. It's not impossible to manipulate votes through the current system, plus you'll have a lot more people voting/viewing SOTM's. Since you get Sythe Gold through voting on polls, it'll increase community participation.

 

Not a CDT member anymore but I can confirm this has already been discussed in the CDT forums and is being implemented.

Haha. Yes, can confirm from your last suggestion made. I queried the change in CDT and hopefully for the next voting month on wards we will have voting polls. The only thing that will remain the same is the PM'ing entries to SOTM account, so we can ensure privacy in the form that the entries are not then voted upon by/as a popularity contest.

There are also a few more changes to the Monthly Graphics Event; including possible new prizes for consistent winners, and possibility of having your entries showcased via PR Social Media.
