Nice events this year. I really liked how the Christmas themed Sythe accounts were used to keep everyone who was taking part up to date through PM. I think that's a really nice touch.

I liked the events this year - thanks to the CDT for setting everything up, especially the "guess that pic" event, which I'm sure wasn't easy to run. Maybe would have liked to see another similar puzzle/riddle-themed event as those are the most fun, but I don't know how feasible that would be.

 

Enjoyed event alot gutted i didn't get mini rank but still enjoy the guess the photo more than dice one.

 

Glad to hear so many positive responses! What exactly was everyone's favourite aspect? As in what exactly was done right so we know to keep doing that in the future? We know that the rewards were very good, but what sort of events were your favourite? What was done that made the whole thing go so smoothly for you?

 

Really loved the christmas event guess that pic, I've just been too inactive to guess! Keep up the good work guys

 

Really nice Xmas events this year, but i would love to see a xmas game event just like the battleship event

What happened to letting the community make and vote for miniranks?

Did i just miss the threads that have been going out for this?

 

No there haven't been any unless I've completely missed them to which is theoretically possible.

 

The last few times around, we've just had Matt create a few ranks and then as a team we pick our favorite one. I guess the main reason we haven't been making the minirank competitions lately is because they take a long time to run so we'd need more advance planning. However, if there's enough interest in opening the competitions back up to the community, I'll make sure it happens next time around

 

A week to poll and a week to vote is too much time in advance? There was no issues with the 3 times this was done. :\


This event was so copy pasty and could probably be done by somebody in a couple hours. This was standard procedure after I suggested it, makes no sense why it would just randomly stop

 

If we planned more in advance, we can definitely get it done. I'll definitely make sure it happens in the future. I didn't realize how popular those past CDT minirank competitions were, but I just looked at them and they did get a fair amount of entries. Sorry that we didn't make it happen for this time around.

We are also potentially reopening CDT applications soon so that we can get the activity boost we need so that events aren't a last minute scramble.

Thought I'd give some feedback, suggestions and insight.

Last year's Halloween event was great. It was easy for everyone to get involved in and the Grim Reaper was a nice touch and communication through PMs was good, because of the notifications we receive to check back.

I'm wondering if we can keep up the seasonal accounts and perhaps change per event per year or every other year? Like have the Devil this year (whatever name is available and connects to the holiday/event). Not sure if feasible, but I do enjoy the seasonal accounts and the interaction within the events.

* suggestion * Perhaps this halloween we can have an event or something relative to scary storys. Either via video/voice or in written form and then have a vote on what the community think is the most scariest (originals). Etc I also looked through previous events and saw scary monster drawings etc I'd love to see that come back..

*suggestions* wouldn't mind hand drawing something for any event/ holiday and even baking related eevents for all holidayshopefully something drawing related for all events. Especially summer. I'd love if we could have quirky unique based drawing competitions. Maybe not always GFX online drawings because not all us have these skills., but hand drawings, collages creative realistic art pieces. It'll be summer so people may visit the beach, make a competition for the best sand castle making// with a picture etc. (Do we always have to be so restricted?)

I really like the idea of a Talent competition as mentioned previously in this thread, has anything been implemented within CDT events?

Last year's X-Mas was also excellent great variety of events, I did like the picture guessing game, although I found it relatively hard. And I didn't win a x-mas minirank in the end, because I didn't feel I could participate in many of the events. Maybe because I don't actively celebrate x-mas, but I do like to be involved where possible.. wasn't as
much to my taste. :c yes im sour cos I never got a minirank.

I wasn't active during valentine's event, if I had known about it I would of been here, because that minirank is a beauty. I'm unsure of what events you did for that, because you haven't updated the CDT hall of fame thread. I'd suggest that get update per event, so then its not harder at the end of the year.

*suggestion * For next years Valentines event (hopefully you keep doing it) if you haven't already what about something poetry related? Write a poem.

Also wasn't active during easter (pesky lil exams) I saw the sand box thread the one Bert/changergp.com was sponsoring ( imagine if I was participating in that, none of the bad eggs would be bad for me xD ) hoping to see more sand box events, especially considering summer is such a sand box type of thing.

*suggestion* Perhaps we can have a dice competition between 1-10000, have anyone who rolls between 1-999 wins a Summer participation point, 1000- 1999 has to advertise the CDT events, 2111-2223 wins a minirank. Etc have a selection of goodies, gain summer participation points, miniranks, $5 win or 2.5m 07gp(15 to win), or lose 2 summer participation points?, or advertising CDT events, in UI/sig. anything that seems acceptable. I know you guys like to do sponsored versions, but we could use some time of Summer to advertise more about the CDT events. * also don't mind sponsoring a rsgp wins, have been meaning to do some sandbox dice competition/ giveaways.

We have summer events starting up now and so far there is no link between it being summer-like.

There's the Sythe Paper Trading Competition, and although this is a pretty amazeball event, how does it relate to summer? Or is it just because its an event during the summer? Are we having more summer-based events?

*suggestions* I hosted a Runescape 07 Fashion Scape giveaway once, people seemed interested in this as it was unique and interactive with players individual rs characters, people love to show off ..... FashionScape [RS Special] Giveaway! ..Perhaps we could have a summer fashion scape/catwalk or any other games involving a character set up or dress up competition or even a irl version. I wouldn't mind sponsoring the winnings for a rs-related one. And perhaps in future it can be expanded into different holidays. Never know. I would do more of these of my own, but I'm not active in rs things atm ( plus I think CDT would benefit from my uniqueness )

* suggestions* Also as I said above about the sand castle etc competition, and if people end up going on holiday or not,we can have a photo of summer related things, bbq's, beaches, sceneries, sunset ...what ever people get up to have a pic taken (with sythe username) .. something..

The alert system will come in really handy this year. I'm wondering if anyone has suggested whether a thread be created of a list of participants of all the previous events or a list of people who would like to be notified per event. So basically a subscription service (considering there's always criticism about the lack of publicity) we're on xen, we can have use of the alerts system to c&p the list of people that want to be in the know for each event. ( this differs to subscribing to a thread) (have a thread for those who wish to apply to subscription and a secondary thread with each post naming the event and simply c&p the list of members within each post per event update - alert notification). Those who no longer wish to be notified can simply ask to be removed from the subscription list. (I hope I make sense), alternative / as well as, this can be made into a Sythe-Events-Skype-Chat, similar to how Dunworry has a Sythe-Rs-Skype chat, people can leave the chat when they don't wish to be notified - don't have to make it annoying with constant notification, but just an update on what events are taking place.

Finally, I really love the CDT miniranks suggestions and vote threads because absolutely anyone can get involved. Can't wait for the summer miniranks vote thread, whens it coming? Also I want to thank the CDT members for all the hard work being put in for these events.

I just feel like the current CDT events don't necessarily involve all members of the community. Not that many people get involved really. Organising activities/events which are less time-consuming may be a good way to improve.
