[Approved]Require proof a user agreed to a tos in reports section

many users dont know that a services tos has to be actually agreed to for it to be in effect.

without calling any services out, there are a bunch that have a discord channel with their tos in it & dont require the customer to actually read / understand them.
The services just have it written somewhere in their discord effectively saying: by opening a ticket you agree to the tos.

I propose that for handling future reports, if either party brings up the tos they should also show proof the user agreed to the tos.

 

This is kind of like fine print for any business EVER. Just because you don't read it doesn't mean it's not there. Just assume there's always a TOS. No Support.

just to clarify, its already a rule that the user has to agree to the tos. they cant just be auto opted in without their express concent

Right now some users have services that h as an auto opt in feature of their tos, and they still try and use their tos as a defense if a report is opened

 

I know that most services add In their ToS that by placing an order you automatically agree to their ToS which I personally find to be very shady. All users should be able to make an informed decision on wether or not your ToS is acceptable for them.

A great example of this that I know personally is @Dev_Zach links you to his ToS before a purchase is made and you must agree to it before he sells you any service or product.

Personally I think people who run any type of service or trade that requires a ToS to be followed or a ToS where they aren't required to fix a potential problem because of their ToS, should have to inform the customer of this potential and make them agree to it BEFORE THEY SELL THEM THE PRODUCT/SERVICE , if they wish to bring their ToS into a defense against a report with valid proof of them agreeing before hand.

 

I support. Users should always be informed of any TOS that exist and what the terms are that are set in place. I agree w Poat's statement that it is shady to say someone immediately agrees to TOS if they place an order, honestly if anything that should he disallowed.

 

Unfortunately, the way terms of service has been executed in nearly all services is that of which in-real life business's carry out. It's just the fine print. It's just been either if you contact me or place an order you automatically agree to the term of service. I'm not sure what the most efficient way would be to carry out this, even though I 100% agree with everything that's been mentioned thus far on the thread.

Maybe we can create a sticky that if a service wants to use their T.O.S as defense for anything that may go wrong during an order a screen has to be presented that confirms that the customer has read and agreed to them. Along with that maybe we can make T.O.S be verified by staff members, this is something that a lot of other sites carry out, just to ensure a service is using a T.O.S that violates Sythe rules, etc.

Hard to call really plenty of servers have tos all over it, for me personally idk why someone would order without actually reading them like someone said previously you don't know what you're agreeing too. The picture @Saad posted is great though, even if they haven't bothered reading it they've admitted to agreeing which would save service providers hassle if something went wrong later.

Also would like to say it shouldn't be 2 hours of reading with every possible way to screw a client over.

I see a ton of providers who are like "when you're items go missing its not our fault" and constantly see clients losing items getting scammed "multiple multiple times" and never have to pay it back not to a single client.

As well just having TOS in a discord isn't enough you should have to take screenshots after a client says "I agree to the TOS" save that in a file for future reference.

However if you're running this right you won't ever have to use them but its safe for you and the client.

there's always a TOS in real life buisness dealling and online its just basic buisness safety for the seller. No Support.

 

This is a requirement already but there are a few ways that a user can agree to a TOS. There's the explicit way of course but some service discords have a channel-creation system in place that requires the user to acknowledge that the TOS has been agreed to and that's fine as well
