I'm not trying to make this thread about me, but I'm joining the Air Force to pay for my college... the Marines is a bit much, though.

Good luck, I do respect the military more than others. The balls it takes to do what they do and be able to sleep at night does raise questions in my mind.

 

SuF, I respect any and all frontline personnel. Army, Marine Corps, Fighter/Helo Pilots. Pretty much anyone who's willing to take a bullet to defend your rights to sit here and disrespect the same fuckers dieing for you.

Then that would mean resorting to your tactics to get even. That's not how justice works; you're thinking of revenge. Besides, military men and women don't go around taking innocent lives (there are some cases otherwise, but they are not common), they take the lives of people who are willing to die for their country, much like themselves. I also assume you're a vegetarian, if not, then you're a hypocrite.

The only way I will ever join the military is if there is a draft imposed, and even then, I will think about attempting to evade it.

They are not dying for me. Everyone deserves the same amount of respect and that's what I give them. I do not care who you are, what you do, or anything. You get the same amount of damned respect as everyone else.

And. Yes obviously the army purposefully kills civilians. Its a part of total war. But the current situation the US is in is more of a police action so the army hopefully, but most likely isn't attempting not to kill civilians as much as possible.
