Why not? You'll be respected by 90% of the country (Even most who don't believe in war). You're risking you life in the most honorable way and you're protecting the country you love. I'd gladly die with a smile on my face and bullets in my chest, rather than in a car accident, because someone ran a red light.

I'm really happy that you're swearing your life to the Marines. Honestly, I wish more Americans were like this: had enough charisma to commit such extreme acts of justification, even me. I have so much respect for the Marines. I was just talking with my older cousin the other day, he said he was in the reserves and is applying to have full consideration to go full time. I told him, "It's crazy man, are you sure that you want to do this?" He said he wants to make a difference.... The most influencing words I have ever heard. Much love.

He can do what he wants, why do you care?

 

Expect to be broken down and built back up. Don't draw any unnecessary attention to yourself by having earrings, long hair, etc. They'll want to see how you act under frustration and stress.

I don't respect people in the military any more than anyone else. I really do not understand why anyone wants to join the military. It makes no sense to me at all.

 

Purposefully or not, civilians do die.
