A lot of updates

Greetings all, we have a few updates to share with you:

Starting with some Site Changes:

- We've updated the DNT and TWC icons to now include 'Click for details' on the bottom half. Not all users were aware that you can click on the icons to view where they were obtained. Users would often PM staff members requesting DNT/TWC reasons when this information was already publicly available (commonly in the Where did [name here] go? thread after the ban expired). We hope that this icon update will reach new and old users alike in order to provide quicker access to information regarding DNTs and TWCs.

Notable User Updates:

1. We'd like to congratulate our new Sectional Moderator, @Dev Zach. Please give him a warm welcome if you haven't already. If you are interested in applying for a staff position, please give the application section a read!

2. We'd like to welcome our four new Bond holders: @Bert @Chich @Ember @Zora. We've had many great applicants and want to encourage those who were interested to remain active as more spots will become available.

Rules & Community Interest Updates:

1. We've added a new rule regarding cryptocurrency fees:
Fees must be discussed and agreed upon before a trade. In the event a fee was not discussed beforehand and a transaction is in limbo due to no confirmations for extended time, the customer is owed the difference if the value of the cryptocurrency were to decrease - the inverse does not apply.

• In the absence of an agreement on a fee, a maximum confirmation time is applied: 2 hours. You are responsible for the difference if the confirmation time exceeds 2 hours.

Over the past few months cryptocurrency has been reaching new highs, this has led to an increase in transactions causing some trades to experience excessively long confirmation times. The purpose of this rule is to make sure users agree to the fee they are receiving or paying for. This allows both users to be informed about the duration of time they might experience while waiting for confirmations.

There is an additional clause that adds liability to those who do not agree to a fee before a trade. In the event a fee is not discussed and agreed to, then the sender is responsible for negative price changes if the transaction does not post at least 1 confirmation within 2 hours.


2. Running alongside the surges in cryptocurrency, our community repayment funds have long since been held in Bitcoin, which has appreciated tremendously over the past year. We've reflected on this stance and have opted to store the majority in a stable coin in order to maintain the amount we're expected to have.

At the time of posting this, we have:
0.15520782 BTC in the wallet.
0.37945304 BTC converted to USD and this was sent when Bitcoin was approximately $61k, so around $23k.

Bitcoin can absolutely keep going up, but we want to insure the majority to its USD value to mitigate unnecessary risk. We will be keeping some of the funds in Bitcoin for pardon repayment processes, so that we are able to send owed funds to returning scam victims immediately upon their return.


3. Lastly, we've had a user mass messaging users on our site and Discord with a fake Sythe link in order to attempt to phish account details. We've done some back end work in order to prevent someone doing this as much as possible (we can't go into details). We encourage users to be cautious on Discord when clicking links that someone unfamiliar sends to you. If it's asking you to log in again when you are already signed in then you should be alarmed. If you see anyone doing this on any of our platforms, please message a staff member immediately so that we can remove them or report the PM.

Very nice update. With the rapid surge and drops recently in BTC, those rules are a great addition.
