Higher quality UE's for a start. Just an allround quality improvement of our section of the forum. Make it flashy, make it so that a user would miss out if he didn't read our guides. We'd have to come up with GOOD stuff though.

We need to be harsher.
People are working hard to become a UE, then once they have the rank, do jack all for the UE community, and use their rank to scam people.
We need to be ALOT harsher.
A few weeks ago, I saw a misc. guide on making a spliff...
We need something big... Something that the Sythe community isn't expecting!

 

NOTE THIS IS A REPOST OF WHAT I POSTED IN THE PRIVATE STAFF AREA:

Here is what I had in mind.

Turning User Education into something more than a project.
Things that are helpful.
Things that the Sythe.org community actually wants.
Things that are unique to Sythe.org.

Examples?

Specific lists of games, with pictures and descriptions (All freeware, all RPG, etc.)
Tutorials on how to get free stuff (club.live, Cashcrate, etc.)
Tutorials on how to do cool things on the computer (Turning your computer into Alienware-esque, etc.)
How to use BBCode (I personally created a tutorial like this, and is particularly helpful when someone wants to know how to link an image)
How to Setup forums and mods (Creating a request thread where people could ask how to install mods and VB/PHP/IPB/SMF, etc.)
Guides on How to Use Runescape Cheats (ow do i use aresbt?)
Those are just examples.

Remove User Education, not the basis behind it. Turn Deacon and WoW_sucks into sectional mods, but remove User ED. as currently they aren't staff, and shouldn't be. I can give you some examples of successful things.

So basically, heres what I had planned.

Deleting the whole section other than the guides. Removing all the ranks, instead making WoW_sucks and Deacon both sectional mods of a New Section called, "Beneficial Learning". Where anyone may post guides, and they are to be rated, using the "Digg" feature, and we have a GOTW, where the winner gets to wear a custom made (weekly) GOTW Userbar, and is given Halfop on the IRC (Abuse = dehalfopp'd). Also, we should advertise the new guides whenever possible, and when people ask stupid questions like "how do i put linkz into my imageszz", we direct them to the guide, instead of explaining it to them/telling them to google.

Ideas? Comments?

 

Yakov, don't do that. The users are finally interested in UE. Atleast more than before. For example, I made a php tutorial, Hax4You made a perl tutorial, Puzzle made some damn good vb guides, and still, mmolist is more educating? That's fucked up.
Edit: I'm not as stupid as you think I am, you know what I mean.

 

Actually, its some of the best ideas that ive seen. But yeh, I wanted a place for other people to post guides, i want people to be able to comment, i want guides that i personally would like to read etc etc.

That is actually a good idea, but to add to it, what about making it a moderated forum (meaning the post has to be checked by the sectional before being posted) to make sure no spam gets through?

Don't mean to sound like a giver-upperer P) but it wouldn't being gettting rid of UE it would just mean altering it to make it better... you can only push this section so far... and those that can't give a good excuse as to why this idea can't be accomplished probably don't want to lose their rank.

 

I'll be there, i wanna hear more of this idea.

 

My idea is to move the runescape guides forum from the rs section to our section this will attract the rs people to become ue's I also like yakovs idea.. maybe like unknown was going to do phase 2...have it like some staff members will collect some rs gold and every some odd "good guides" if they get rated well then you will get like 100k comments?

 

I hate the idea of destroying UE...

 

I actually support this in a way. I mean, the majority of sythe plays rs here, and im sure guides would help them out alot.
